MSP Reports for Calvert Co.


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (Oct. 21, 2014)—The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) released the following incident and arrest reports.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: On 10/15/2014 at 10:02 am, Sergeant Roach received a report of both the front and rear MD registration plates being stolen from a vehicle parked at the victim's residence in Lusby. The license plate 7BL1332 and sticker number 0272065 have been entered into METERS/NCIC. Investigation continues.

THEFT/SHOPLIFTING: On 10/15/2014 at 05:40 pm, Trooper Palumbo responded to the Family Dollar Store in Prince Frederick for a reported of shoplifting. April M. Rogers, 29 of Prince Frederick, was observed placing several items in her handbag as if to conceal them. The store manager stopped Ms. Rogers from leaving the premise and Trooper Palumbo, after investigating the incident, placed Ms. Rogers under arrest. She was issued a Criminal Citation for theft less than $100.00 and was released.

POSSESSION OF SYNTHETIC MARIJUANA: On 10/18/2014 at 2:46 am, Trooper First Class Esnes stopped a vehicle at Rt. 4 and Old Field Lane in Prince Frederick for traffic violations. While speaking with the occupants, several criminal indicators were noted and a K-9 scan was requested. As a result of the K-9 scan, a probable cause search was conducted and both synthetic marijuana and marijuana were located. The driver, Melanie E. Napolitano, 19 of Edwardsville, PA was issued a Criminal Citation for possession of marijuana and was released. The passenger, Daniel L. Coley, 20 of Wilkes Barre, PA, was arrested for possession of synthetic marijuana and was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER: On 10/19/2014 at 7:40 am, Master Trooper Gill responded to the area of Cove Point Rd. to assist with a traffic stop with another trooper. During the course of the stop, it was discovered that the driver was in violation of a protective order previously obtained by the passenger in the vehicle. Miguel A. Cardenas, 37 of Lexington Park, was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.
