LA PLATA, Md. (Oct. 21, 2014)The Charles County Sheriff's Office released the following incident and arrest reports.
BURGLARY: On Oct. 15 at about 6:15 p.m., an unknown suspect gained entry into a garage in the 3800 block of Pine Cone Circle in Waldorf. The homeowner saw the suspect who fled after being observed. The suspect was described as a black male, possibly in his teens, wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and black Jordan tennis shoes. His hair was long and in a pony tail. Nothing was stolen. Officer G. Cook is investigating.
SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY REPORTED: On Oct. 15, at 3:40 p.m., officers responded to a call for suspicious activity in the 1700 block of Brightwell Court. Two girls, ages 14 and 8, were walking toward their house on Bannister Circle in the area of Brightwell Court when a man driving a four-door passenger car pulled up beside them, pointed to the passenger seat and asked if they wanted to get in the car. The girls said no and the man drove away. The girls described the man as a black male, possibly in his 30's, with a shaved head, facial hair, and wearing a blue jacket with a black tie and a white shirt. There were no other incidents reported. Anyone who has information is asked to call the CCSO at (301) 932-2222. Officer G. Cook is investigating.
FIRST-DEGREE ASSAULT: On Oct. 14 at 7:25 p.m., officers responded to the area of Smallwood Village Center for the report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they located a 21-year-old male who had a gunshot wound to his ankle. The victim was transported to a hospital where he was treated for a minor injury. The victim would not provide further information but witnesses said a silver or dark-colored vehicle may have been involved. Det. J. Elliott is investigating.
