MSP Reports for Calvert Co.


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (Sept. 29, 2014)—The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA & AMMUNITION: On 9/22/2014 at 12:29 pm, Trooper First Class Casarella stopped a vehicle on Rt. 4 near Cove Point Rd. for traffic violations. A strong odor of raw marijuana was emitting from inside the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed marijuana, drug paraphernalia and ammunition. John C. Fowler Jr., 32 of St. Inigoes, was arrested. A check with the Maryland Gun Center revealed Fowler was prohibited from possessing ammunition due to a prior criminal conviction. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 9/23/2014 at 12:05 am, Trooper First Class Esnes stopped a vehicle on Main St. near Armory Rd. in Prince Frederick for traffic violations. Kristina M. Vanasse, 32 of Huntingtown, was driving on a suspended license. Vanasse was placed under arrest. A search incident to the arrest revealed marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

THEFT OF COPPER: On 9/23/2014 at 6:40 pm, Trooper First Class Saucerman responded to the 1700 block of Emmanuel Church Rd. in Huntingtown for a theft of copper complaint. The caretaker for the property reported that copper downspouts and gutter pieces were missing from inside a barn at the residence. Investigation remains open pending contact with metal salvage yards in the Southern Maryland area.

WARRANT ARREST, VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER: On 9/24/2014 at 10:05 pm, Trooper First Class Matthews along with another trooper responded to the 12500 block of Tahoda Ct. in Lusby to serve two bench warrants through St. Mary's County Sheriffs Office on Kelly Joe Fordham, 23 of Lusby. Fordham was located inside the residence. During the arrest, TFC Matthews was advised that Fordham was also in violation of a protective order. He was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

DUI, CONCEALED DEADLY WEAPON: On 9/25/2014 at 10:44 pm, Trooper First Class Lewis stopped a vehicle on Gateway Dr. in Dunkirk for traffic violations. Ryan L. White, 19 of Huntingtown, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence. A probable cause search was conducted due to the moderate odor of burnt marijuana. During the search a brass knuckle knife was located in the vehicle. White was additionally charged with a concealed deadly weapon charge. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

DUI, POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 9/27/2014 at 01:01 am, Trooper First Class Lewis stopped a vehicle on Rt. 260 near Limerick Ln. in Owings for traffic violations. The juvenile driver performed the Standardized Field Sobriety Test poorly. The odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from inside the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The juvenile was taken to the MSP Barrack in Prince Frederick for processing and was released to a parent.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 9/27/2014 at 9:08 am, Trooper Newcomer responded to the 1600 block of Ball Rd. in Port Republic for a domestic assault in progress. While investigating the assault, Trooper Newcomer observed marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the master bedroom where the assault occurred. Klye W. Heiston, 26 of Port Republic, was arrested for the assault and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center. Autum N. Dawson, 26 of Port Republic, was transported to the MSP Barrack in Prince Frederick for processing and was charged on criminal citations for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
