Drug Arrests in St. Mary's Co.


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Sept. 12, 2014)—The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office Vice Narcotics Division today released the following incident and arrest reports. The Division is an investigative team comprised of detectives from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office and Federal Drug Agents (HIDTA Group 34). The Division was established on September 1st, 2007.

DISTRIBUTION OF PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS:

Joshua Alan Moore, 25, of Mechanicsville, Md.

Detectives identified Joshua Alan Moore, 25, of Mechanicsville, as a distributor of various prescription medications. An investigation was initiated and as a result a search and seizure warrant was obtained. Detectives observed Suspect Moore during a drug transaction in the Bushwood area and executed the search warrant. A prescription for Xanax was recovered from the suspect. It had been filled the previous day for 120 pills, but had only 5 pills remaining. In addition to those pills, multiple Hydromorphone pills were seized along with cash and two cellular phones. Additional charges are pending a review with the state's attorney against suspect Moore and others.

COCAINE, MARIJUANA:

James Richard Nelson, 32, of Upper Marlboro, Md.

James Richard Nelson, 32, of Upper Marlboro, was indicted and charged with Possession of Cocaine with the Intent to Distribute and Possession of Marijuana.

OXYCODONE:

Mark Anthony Buckler, 32, of Leonardtown, Md.

Mark Anthony Buckler, 32, of Leonardtown, was identified by detectives as a distributor of Oxycodone and as a result of an investigation into his criminal activity, a search and seizure warrant was obtained and executed on his Leonardtown home. Suboxone, marijuana, numerous handguns and a cell phone were recovered. Suspect Buckler was arrested and additional charges are pending a review by the state's attorney.

LIQUID MORPHINE:

Brain Patrick Sweeney, 22, of Hollywood, Md.

Brain Patrick Sweeney, 22, of Hollywood, was indicted and arrested after detectives made several undercover purchases of "liquid morphine" from him. Suspect Sweeney was originally held without bail.
