Charles Co. Sheriff's Reports


LA PLATA, Md. (July 31, 2014)—The Charles County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

ASSAULT: On July 31 at 3:39 a.m., officers responded to the area of Pinefield Road and Pinefield Way in Waldorf for a call about disorderly subjects. When officers arrived, they found a man lying face down in the grass. Upon further investigation, the officers learned the man had just been assaulted by two people he knew. One of the suspects hit the victim with a metal bar and the other suspect punched him. Both suspects fled prior to arrival. The victim was transported to the UMD Charles Regional Medical Center and treated for injuries he sustained in the assault. PDC D. Walker is investigating.

BURGLARY REPORTED: On July 30, during the daytime hours, someone broke into a house in the 10700 block of Cheryl Turn in Waldorf and stole TVs, purses, money and a gun. It is not clear how the suspects gained entry. P FC C. Barrows is investigating.

THEFT OF COPPER: On July 30, during the daytime hours, someone stole used copper and telephone wire from the 4000 block of Doncaster Drive in Indian Head. Cpl. R. Cadrette is investigating.

ATTEMPT BURGLARY: On July 29 at 1:51 a.m., someone tried to break into a building in the 4200 block of Piney Church Road in Waldorf. The suspect(s) was not successful and fled after the alarm sounded. Officer S. Hooper is investigating.

ROBBERY: On July 28 at 8:35 p.m., officers responded to the 10100 block of Bruns Avenue in White Plains for the report of a robbery. The victim stated he was exiting his vehicle when a male wearing a white T-shirt, light blue jeans and a bandana around his mouth ran up to him pointing a handgun. The suspect pushed the victim to the ground and stole the victim’s cash and two cell phones. The suspect and another male fled to a red passenger car which pulled up after the assault. Prior to this event, the victim had just left a bank at Waldorf Market Place where he withdrew money. It’s not clear if the suspects followed him home after leaving the bank. Cpl K.D.
