LA PLATA, Md. (July 31, 2014)—Southern Maryland Oil, Inc. (SMO) today announced the purchase of Hein Bros., Inc. of Glen Burnie, Md. The acquisition will be complete on July 31 at which time SMO will assume Hein Bros.’s heating oil delivery and HVAC services. The acquisition allows SMO to expand its fuels account base in Anne Arundel County.
“SMO and Hein Bros. have been delivering fuel oil to this area for about 90 years, so this acquisition was a logical fit,” said John Combs, president of SMO. “Beyond our similar product offerings, our deep dedication to taking care of our clients who depend upon us every day permeates our organizations.”
SMO and Hein Bros. grew their companies around fuel oil and kerosene delivery, HVAC equipment service, and HVAC service agreements. SMO’s additional service offerings will be now be available to Hein Bros. clients too, including installation of HVAC equipment, such as air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, boilers, water heaters, generators, and indoor air quality products. SMO installs and services equipment powered by natural gas, electricity, fuel oil, and propane. SMO also delivers propane and specializes in propane conversions. In addition to SMO’s residential services, SMO offers commercial fuel services.
