LA PLATA, Md. (July 30, 2014)—The Board of Education yesterday approved several administrative appointments for the 2014-15 school year. They include one principal appointment, three vice principal appointments and two positions at the Jesse L. Starkey Administration Building.
Christienne Warren was appointed principal at Dr. Gustavus Brown Elementary School. Warren previously served as principal at Coldstream Park Elementary Middle School with Baltimore City Public Schools for two years. She transitioned to Dr. Brown as the schools acting principal earlier this month.
Mary Long was named vice principal at J.P. Ryon Elementary School. She previously taught second grade at William B. Wade Elementary School.
Erica Watson was named vice principal at Mt. Hope/Nanjemoy Elementary School. Previously, Watson was an instructional resource teacher at Mary B. Neal Elementary School.
Kevin Jackson was named as a vice principal at Theodore G. Davis Middle School in Waldorf. He previously served as a vice principal at Calvert Elementary School with Calvert County Public Schools.
Kimberly Watts is the new content specialist of world language and English as a Second Language (ESOL). She formerly served as a high-school level resource teacher at Maurice J. McDonough High School.
Sue DelaCruz has been appointed as the supervising pupil personnel worker (PPW) for Charles County Public Schools. DelaCruz is a former vice principal and has worked as a PPW for several years at the elementary- and middle-school levels.
The vice principal appointments are effective Aug. 1.
