MSP Reports for St. Mary's Co.


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (July 21, 2014)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

BURGLARY: On Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 1:50 am, Tpr. J. Quase responded to the Pawnit located in Lexington Park for a report of a burglary. Suspects broke the glass front door of the business and stole various electronic equipment. Troopers from the Leonardtown Barrack, Maryland State Police helicopter, Trooper 7, along with Deputies and two K-9 units from the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office attempted to locate the suspect. This case remains open. (14-MSP-022228)

DRUG ARREST, DUI: On Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 2:20 pm, Tpr. M. Johnson responded to Route 235 and St. John's Road for a report of a single vehicle accident. According to a witness, the vehicle was traveling on Maryland Route 235 when it left the roadway. The driver, Wyatt Corey Herriman, 26, of Mechanicsville, submitted to Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and was placed under arrest for Driving while Impaired by Controlled Dangerous Substance. Search incident to arrest produced CDS and paraphernalia. Mr. Herriman was transported to St. Mary's Hospital for evaluation, and then transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was charged with Possession of CDS - Not Marijuana, Possession of CDS Paraphernalia, Driving While Impaired, and other traffic related charges. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner. (14-MSP-022575)

DISORDERLY, HARASSMENT, DRUG ARREST: On Sunday, July 20, 2014 at 10:00 pm, Tpr. A. Oyler responded to the Queen Anne's Apartments for a report of telephone misuse and harassment. Tpr. Oyler made contact with the complainant, who advised Megan Anne Morando, 29, of Mechanicsville, had come to her apartment and began to kick the door. Ms. Morando had already been advised not to contact the complainant by Tpr. Oyler on two separate occasions the same day. Ms. Morando was arrested for telephone misuse and harassment. Search incident to arrest produced a prescription bottle containing multiple suspected narcotic medications. Ms. Morando was transported to St Mary's Hospital for medical treatment. During her treatment, she became irate and was screaming at the nursing staff. Ms. Morando was discharged from the ER and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. She was charged with Telephone Misuse, Harassment, Fail to Obey a Lawful Order, Resisting Arrest, Disturbing the Peace, and related CDS charges. She was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner. (14-MSP-022747)
