St. Mary's County Public Schools' Ethics Panel To Meet

The St. Mary's County Public Schools' Ethics Panel will be holding a meeting on Thursday, May 29, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., in the Assistant Superintendent's Conference Room, 23160 Moakley Street, Leonardtown, Maryland 20650.

Commissioners June Public Forum to be Held in Valley Lee

The Board of County Commissioners for St. Mary's County will hold its June Public Forum at the Second District Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad's Social Hall. The hall is located at 45245 Drayden Road in Valley Lee, Maryland. The forum will take place on Tuesday, June 3 at 6:30 p.m. Citizens are invited to attend the forum and address the members of the Board of County Commissioners.

The Public Forum will be videotaped for broadcast on Sunday, June 8 at 7 p.m. on St. Mary's County Government TV 95 (SMCG TV 95) on Metrocast Cable. The forum will also be available for online viewing on the county's website at www.stmarysmd.com. Simply click on the SMCG TV 95 icon in the upper right of the screen. Once on the page go to the Board of County Commissioners video tab to the right of the screen and select 6/3/14 pm to view.

Anyone wishing to speak at the Public Forum will be allowed up to three (3) minutes to address Commissioners. Those wishing to provide more detailed comments may do so via email or regular mail.

Commissioners to Conduct Public Hearing on Proposed Text Amendments to Comprehensive Water and Sewerage Plan

The St. Mary's Board of County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, June 3, at 11:30 a.m., to receive public testimony concerning proposed amendments to the St. Mary's County Comprehensive Water and Sewerage Plan (CSWP).

The proposed amendments would add appropriate language within Section 4.5.10 "Indian Creek Sanitary District No. 10," subpart A. "Charlotte Hall, New Market and Mechanicsville Town Centers" to include a description of the Charlotte Hall LC wastewater treatment facility.

The amendment would also add appropriate language to the CWSP to include a description of the Charlotte Hall LC treatment facility to "Table 4-2A: Inventory of Community and Rural Shared systems."

The public hearing will be held in the Commissioners' meeting room inside the Chesapeake Building, 41770 Baldridge Street, Leonardtown, Maryland.

St. Mary's County Board of Elections to Conduct Public Logic and Accuracy Testing

The St. Mary's County Board of Elections will conduct Logic and Accuracy Testing of the AccuVote Touch Screen Voting Units on Friday, May 30, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Testing will take place at the Election Warehouse at 47382 Lincoln Avenue in Lexington Park (site of the old Carver Elementary School).

Recreation and Parks Board Meeting Schedule Changes

The Department of Recreation and Parks is announcing the Recreation and Parks Board meeting, originally scheduled for Thursday, June 5, has been rescheduled to Thursday, June 19.

Additionally, the July and August Board meetings have been canceled. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be held on Thursday, September 4 at 5:30 p.m., in the commissioners meeting room inside the Chesapeake Building in Leonardtown.

Recreation and Parks Board meetings are generally held on the first Thursday of each month, unless otherwise noted.
