BELTSVILLE, Md. (March 25, 2014) The Naval Research Laboratory has awarded the Blossom Point Tracking Facility Spacecraft Operations and Facilities Services contract to ASRC Federal Space and Defense. The five-year contract is valued at approximately $40 million.
Blossom Point Tracking Facility has been at the forefront of satellite operations technology development, and the ASRC Federal Space and Defense team is committed to helping ensure continued mission success, said Paul Dillahay, ASRC Federal president and CEO. We are excited to have the opportunity to apply our extensive experience delivering satellite services to support the Naval Research Laboratory at Blossom Point.
The ASRC Federal Space and Defense team will provide satellite tracking, command and control, data collection, and site facilities management for the NRL at Blossom Point.
The Blossom Point Tracking Facility, located in Charles County, Md., provides command and control for the governments research and development satellites. The facilitys telemetry, tracking and command capabilities allow worldwide coverage through connectivity to various ground station networks, including the Air Force Satellite Control Network and local and remote assets on NRL and other government properties.
