MSP Reports for St. Mary's Co.


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (March 3, 2014)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) released the following incident and arrest reports.

ASSAULT: On Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 11:41 pm, Tpr. W. Couter responded to the 21000 block of Ronald Drive in Lexington Park for a domestic disturbance. Witnesses stated that Charell Latrice Stewart, 29, of Lusby, had assaulted a male victim. Stewart was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. She was charged with Second Degree Assault and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Monday, February 17, 2014 at 2:43 am, Tpr. K. Morris initiated a traffic stop on a red passenger car on Route 235 and Airport Road for a minor traffic infraction. The driver, Rafael Vinson Hilliard, 28, of Oxon Hill, had an outstanding warrant through Prince George's County Sheriff's Office. Mr. Hilliard was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center for service. Mr. Hilliard was searched and suspected heroin was recovered. He was charged with the warrant, Possession of CDS (heroin), and Possessing CDS Within a Detention Center.

THEFT: On Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 4:16 pm, Cpl. M. Grimes responded to the Family Dollar located in Lexington Park for a reported theft. Betty Jo Hopkins, 62, of Lexington Park was arrested for Theft Under $100 and transported to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack. She was charged accordingly and later released.

ASSAULT, DISORDERLY CONDUCT: On Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 3:13 pm, TFC M. Pitcher responded to the parking lot of J.C. Penny located in California for a reported fight. Numerous witnesses stated that Shuree Sinese Weems, 33, of Hollywood, had been involved in a physical altercation with a victim. While in the parking lot, Ms. Weems began screaming and acting in a disorderly manner. She was placed under arrest and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Disturbing the Peace, and Second Degree Assault. She was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT: On Sunday, February 23, 2014 at 8:11 pm, TFC M. Pitcher stopped to assist a motorist on Holly Lane and North Sandgates Road. A check through MILES/NCIC revealed that the tag had been reported stolen through the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack on February 10, 2014. The driver, James Anthony Lawrence, Jr., 35, of Mechanicsville was arrested and charged with Theft Less than $100. He was transported to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack and later released.

DRUG ARREST: On Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 8:37 pm, Senior Trooper E. Evans initiated a traffic stop on a black passenger car on Route 235 and Airport View Drive for a minor traffic infraction. A K9 Scan was conducted and the K9 alerted on the vehicle. A probable cause search was then conducted, resulting in the recovery of CDS. The driver, Nicholas Alan Novosel, 21, of Waldorf was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Marijuana. Mr. Novosel was transported to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack, where he was charged accordingly and later released.
