LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Jan 1, 2014)The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office released the following incident and arrest reports.
DEPARTMENTAL VEHICLE ACCIDENT: On December 31, 2013 at 7:15am, Sergeant Robert Russell was traveling (in a non-emergency status), north on Oakley Road in the area of Banerjee Court in his agency issued patrol vehicle when a deer entered the roadway. Sergeant Russell's vehicle struck the deer, which became lodged underneath the vehicle and prevented the vehicle from being steered. The vehicle left the roadway and overturned into a ditch filled with water trapping Sergeant Russell inside. Assistance arrived and freed Sergeant Russell from the vehicle. He was transported by ambulance to Medstar St. Mary's Hospital for precautionary measures and released.
DISTRIBUTOR OF COCAINE: Calvin Matthew Douglas, 28, of St. Inigoes, was identified as a distributor of cocaine. Detectives made several undercover purchases of cocaine from suspect Douglas and he was subsequently indicted and arrested for multiple counts of Distribution of Cocaine. He was originally held without bond.
