LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Dec. 19, 2013)The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.
SEX OFFENDER OPERATION: On December 18, St. Mary's County Criminal Investigations Division, Sex Offender Registry Unit, conducted a sex offender operation. As a result of the operation three registered sex offenders were arrested on outstanding warrants. Thomas L. Harris, age 35, of Lexington Park, Md., was served a District Court warrant for Contempt of Court and held under no bond, Terrence A. Queen, age 30, of No Fixed Address, was served a warrant for Failure to Appear in Circuit Court as directed and held under no bond. Steven M. Cady, age 32, of Hollywood was found to have an outstanding warrant through Charles County for Violation of probation. Cady was released to the Charles County Sheriff's Office for processing.
BOMB THREAT INCIDENT: On December 19 at approximately 7:59am, the Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received two phone calls from the same male subject reporting bombs inside Leonardtown High School, the Circuit Court for St. Mary's County building, and the District Court for St. Mary's County building. Deputies were immediately dispatched to all three locations. Leonardtown High School was placed on lockdown. The Circuit Court building was evacuated. The District Court building was not evacuated.
Bomb detecting K9 units from the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office, NAS Patuxent River, and the Calvert County Sheriff's Office responded to each of the locations and completed searches. No bombs were located.
