PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (Nov. 26, 2013)The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.
THEFT: On 11/13/2013 at 12:28 pm, Trooper Barlow responded to the Fastop in St. Leonard for a reported theft. Leah M. Dibble, 40 of St. Leonard, entered the store and removed two drinks without paying. Charges are pending.
THEFT: On 11/13/2013 at 5:20 pm, Trooper First Class Logsdon responded to the 4000 block of Old Bayside Rd in Chesapeake Beach for a reported theft. The victim reported that numerous items of jewelry had been stolen. A pawn search was conducted and several of the items were located at J W Jewelers in Prince Frederick. Suspects have been identified and charges are pending.
POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 11/15/2013 at 3:35 am, off-duty Trooper, Corporal Newman stopped a vehicle for traffic violations. A strong odor of marijuana was emitting from inside the vehicle. Trooper First Class Wiesemann responded to assist. A search revealed that Ryan C. Miedzinski, 20 of Avenue, was found to be in possession of marijuana. He was arrested and transported to the MSP Barrack in Prince Frederick for processing.
THEFT: On 11/15/2013 at 12:31 pm, Senior Trooper Gill handled a report of theft that occurred on South Shore Terrace in Prince Frederick. A vehicle was broken into and a Bosch Jack Hammer and several other tools were stolen. Investigation continues.
ARMED ROBBERY: On 11/16/2013 at 2:35 am, Trooper First Class Smith responded to the 7-ll store located in Sunderland for a silent alarm call. Investigation revealed that a subject entered the store and went behind the counter pointing a handgun at the victims and demanding money. Detectives responded to the scene and assumed the investigation which is still open at this time.
DUI, POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 11/16/2013 at 9:18 pm, Trooper First Class Esnes stopped a vehicle in the 400 block of Bowie Shop Rd. in Huntingtown for traffic violations. John W. Cleaveland Jr., 26 of Huntingtown, was arrested for DUI. A search incident to the arrest revealed marijuana. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.
THEFT: On 11/18/2013 at 1:57 pm, Sr. Trooper Gill handled a report of a stolen MD Registration Plate. Unknown suspect(s) removed the Maryland Tag 931376G from the boat trailer while it was parked at the Solomons Boat Ramp. Investigation continues.
THEFT: On 11/19/2013 at 4:44 pm, Trooper Esnes stopped a vehicle on Rt. 4 at Main Street in Prince Frederick after it was discovered that the registration displayed on the vehicle was stolen. The driver, Darrell L. Starks Jr., 26, of Lexington Park, was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center. Layetta E. Starke, 32 of Prince Frederick, was released and served a Criminal Summons due to the fact that she had a young child with her.
BURGLARY: On 11/20/2013 at 7:45 pm, Trooper First Class Lewis responded to the 4300 block of Dalrymple Rd. in Chesapeake Beach for a reported burglary. Numerous items were stolen from the residence including jewelry, an Ipod, and a jar of change. Investigation continues.
BURGLARY: On 11/21/2013 at 10:35 am, Trooper Matthews responded to the 3600 block of Bayview Dr. in Chesapeake Beach for a reported burglary. A vacant house was broken into however, nothing was stolen. Investigation continues.
POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 11/21/2013 at 3:55 pm, Trooper Crook, Commercial Vehicle Division, stopped a tractor trailer for a DOT inspection on Rt. 4 north of Town Center Blvd. in Dunkirk. The odor of marijuana was detected. A probable cause search of the occupants and the vehicle revealed Kyle M. Gastley, 23 of New Oxford, PA, was in possession of marijuana. He was arrested and transported to the MSP Barrack in Prince Frederick for processing.
THEFT: On 11/21/2013 at 6:20 pm, Trooper Barlow responded to K-Mart in Prince Frederick for a reported theft. Investigation revealed that Cordell T. Sollers, 28 of Lusby, stole merchandise from the electronics department. He was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.
POSSESSION OF HEROIN: On 11/22/2013 at 3:00 pm, Trooper First Class Lewis was conducting follow up to an unrelated criminal investigation. He was speaking with residents on Algonquin Trail in Lusby. He made contact with Christopher F. Radzyniak, 26 of Lusby, during which, he discovered that Radzyniak was in possession of heroin. He was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: On 11/22/2013 at 9:45 pm, Trooper Palumbo stopped a possible intoxicated driver at Rt. 4 and Dares Beach Rd. in Prince Frederick. Phillip K. Strissel, 53 of Edgewater, was taken to the MSP Barrack in Prince Frederick for processing. He was issued a Civil Citation for an open container of alcohol in the motor vehicle. He became disorderly and was arrested for disorderly conduct and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.
POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 11/25/2013 at 6:50 pm, Trooper Rowe stopped a vehicle for traffic violations in the 5000 block of Solomons Island Rd. in Huntingtown. An odor of marijuana was emitting from inside the vehicle. Steven R. Schmitt, 26 of Lothian, was found to be in possession of marijuana. He was arrested and transported to the MSP Barrack in Prince Frederick for processing.
