MSP Reports for Calvert Co.


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (Oct. 18, 2013)—The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) released the following incident and arrest reports.

MARYLAND STATE POLICE, PRINCE FREDERICK BARRACK HIRING DISPATCHER: The Maryland State Police Barrack in Calvert County is currently seeking to hire a dispatcher, known as a Police Communications Operator (PCO). The job of PCO entails monitoring police radio communications, dispatching Troopers to calls for service, checking records through police databases, answering telephone calls and other related responsibilities. The job requires the ability to type and multi-task. PCO's work rotating shifts (7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am). The salary range is $29,000 to $45,000 per year, with access to various health benefits.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On 10/06/2013 at 11:23 am, Trooper First Class Casarella responded to the 1300 block of Gregg Dr. in Lusby for a reported destruction of property. During an argument, Chicago A. Garner, 19 of Lusby, punched a hole in the bedroom door and then punched a screen door while leaving the residence. Charges are pending.

THEFT: On 10/6/2013 at 4:57 pm, Trooper First Class Saucerman responded to the Lusby Liquor Store in Lusby for a theft complaint. The victim reported that Lane T. Lascolette, 24 of Lusby, stole checks from the victim and forged the signature and cashed the checks. An application for a criminal summons for Lascolette is pending.

POSSESSION OF HEROIN: On 10/6/2013 at 10:29 pm, Trooper First Class Merkelson responded to Project Echo in Prince Frederick for a possible drug overdose. Heather M. Finstad, 27 of Prince Frederick, was found unconscious in the hallway from a drug overdose. Investigation revealed that Finstad was in possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. Finstad was treated and released from the Calvert Memorial Hospital and then incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 10/8/2013 at 5:01 am, Trooper First Class Oles stopped a vehicle for traffic violations at Rt. 4 and Broomes Island Rd. in St. Leonard. The odor of marijuana was emitting from inside the vehicle. A search revealed marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Terrence L. Jefferson, 31 of Lusby, was arrested and transported to the MSP Barrack in Prince Frederick for processing.

THEFT: On 10/10/2013 at 12:50 pm, Trooper First Class West received a complaint for a theft of a Nintendo gaming system. The victim reported Matthew B. Findley, 27 of Prince Frederick had removed the gaming system without authorization and then sold it at Gamestop. On 10/12/13, Findley was located and served a criminal summons for theft.

INTERFERING WITH ARREST: On 10/10/2013 at 9:50 pm, Trooper First Class Saucerman responded to the 6800 block of Hallowing Lane in Prince Frederick in an attempt to serve a Bench Warrant. Dawn M. Booze, 41 of Prince Frederick knowingly made a false statement to police officers to interfere with a lawful arrest. She was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

THEFT: On 10/11/2013 at 10:56 am, Trooper First Class West responded to the 1200 block of Sheridan Dr. in Owings for a theft complaint. The victim reported that unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked vehicle and removed property and a Handicap Placard. Investigation continues.

POSSESSION OF SYNTHETIC MARIJUANA: On 10/14/2013 at 8:07 am, Trooper First Class Oles responded to the 7000 block of Saw Mill Rd. in Lusby for a possible domestic issue. The victim reported her husband had passed out and was surrounded by drugs and paraphernalia. Michael S. Huskey, 26 of Lusby, was found to be in possession of synthetic marijuana. He was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 10/14/2013 at 9:23 am, Trooper First Class Esnes stopped a vehicle on E. Mt. Harmony Rd. in Owings for traffic violations. When approaching the vehicle, TFC Esnes observed suspected marijuana on the center console. A search revealed marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Daryl J. Peters, 2nd, 23 of North Beach, was arrested and transported to the MSP Barrack in Prince Frederick for processing.

Kathleen M. Gentry, 58, of Lusby, arrested on 10/09/2013 @ 03:44 pm by TFC D. Saucerman

Jennifer L. Newton, 32, of Chesapeake Beach, arrested on 10/12/2013 @ 01:55 am by TFC S. Lewis

Brian E. Young, 47, of Hughesville, arrested on 10/12/2013 @ 11:55 pm by TFC W. Smith
