MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (July 8, 2013)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) released the following incident and arrest reports.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 4:05pm Tpr. D. Buckalew served a Bench Warrant (T3-16057) on Tony Earl Sanders, 46, of Hyattsville. The warrant was issued by the District Court of Prince George's County with the original charge of Trespassing on August, 16, 2012. Mr. Sanders was located and arrested while on a traffic stop for a minor traffic infraction. Mr. Sanders was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT: On Friday, June 28, 2013 at 12:04pm, Tpr. K. Baker responded to the Best Buy Store located in California, Maryland for a reported Theft. Justin McKinnley Hurt, 24, of Callaway was arrested and charged with Theft greater than $10,000 but less than $100,000. Mr. Hurt was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Sunday, June 30, 2013 at 7:30am, TFC N. Gresko responded to the 48000 block of Mattapany Road for the report of a wanted person inside a residence. Contact was made with Deuan Manuel Herndon, 27, of Lexington Park, whom had an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-16054) through St. Mary's County for Possession of CDS - Marijuana. Mr. Herndon was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served the Bench Warrant and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, June 24, 2013 at 11:24am, TFC E. Mersman served a Bench Warrant (T3-16021) on Divon James Chase, 22, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County with the original charge of Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance on May 30, 2013. Mr. Chase was located at the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT: On Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 2:32am, TFC M. Pitcher responded to the California Walmart - 45484 Miramar Way, California, MD for the reported Theft. Randall William Plummer, 24, of Lexington Park was arrested and charged with Theft Under $500. Mr. Plummer was transported to the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack where he was charged accordingly and later released.

TRESPASSING: On Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 9:32am, TFC E. Reuschling responded to 21000 block of Great Mills Road Lexington Park, MD for the report of a trespasser. Contact was made with Steven Wayne Carter, 54, of Lexington Park. Mr. Carter was subsequently arrested for Trespassing. Mr. Carter was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

NEGLECT OF A MINOR, DUI - On Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 2:00am, TFC M. Pitcher conducted a traffic stop in the area of Route 235 and Route 237, California, MD on a red SUV for a minor traffic violation. Contact was made with the driver, Crystal Marie Higgs, 25, of Great Mills. Field Sobriety was performed poorly indicating intoxication. Ms. Higgs was subsequently placed under arrest for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol. During the investigation, it was learned Ms. Higgs left her juvenile child at home unattended. Ms. Higgs was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was charged with DUI and Neglect of a Minor. Ms. Higgs was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 12:16pm, TFC E. Mersman responded to 21000 block of Newtowne Neck Road for the report of a wanted person inside a residence. Contact was made with Darious Anthony Jones, 21, of Leonardtown, whom had an outstanding Arrest Warrant (T3-16022) through the Maryland State Police for Malicious Destruction of Property. Mr. Jones was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served the Arrest Warrant and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 3:15pm, TFC E. Reuschling responded to 28000 block of Point Lookout Road for the report of a wanted person inside a residence. Contact was made with Michael Paul Weber, 30, of Loveville, whom had an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-16050). The warrant was issued in St. Mary's County with the original charge of Theft less than $1,000 on June 25, 2013. Mr. Weber was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 4:30am, TFC J. Hardesty served a Bench Warrant (T3-16055) on Nickolas Alan Hurd, 22, of Waldorf. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Driving on a Suspended License on June 26, 2013. Mr. Hurd was located at the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 1:32am, TFC J. Gibson conducted a traffic stop on a black passenger car on Mechanicsville Road and Carpenter Drive, for a minor traffic infraction. While speaking with the driver, Anthony Williams, 54, Washington, D.C., an odor of marijuana was detected. A search of the vehicle was conducted and led to the recovery of CDS and the arrest of Mr. Williams. Mr. Williams was placed under arrest and transported to the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack. He was charged with the possession of CDS and later released.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, DUI: On Friday, June 21, 2013 at 11:59pm, TFC N. Gresko responded to Gregory Drive, Leonardtown, Maryland for a reported Assault and Disturbance. Upon his arrival, he observed John Henry Corrigan, 30, Leonardtown, acting in a disorderly manner. Mr. Corrigan attempted to leave the scene in his black passenger car but struck a curb attempting to leave the parking lot. Mr. Corrigan subsequently placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated and Disorderly Conduct.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT: On Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 3:29pm, Tpr. B. Weber responded to 23000 block of Red Oak Court, California, for the reported Assault. Investigation revealed Christopher Logan Firestein was intoxicated when he became engaged in a verbal argument with his step-daughter. The investigation indicates Mr. Firestein made several death threats to the victim and other members of the family just prior to the assault. Mr. Firestein was arrested for Assault Second Degree and was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, BURGLARY: On Sunday, June 23, 2013 at 6:39am, TFC Reuschling responded to 21000 block of Warwick Court, Lexington Park, for the reported Assault and Burglary to the residence. Contact was made with the victim, who alleged the suspect, Joseph Lavon Mason, 39, Mechanicsville, forced entry into the residence and assaulted the victim. Mr. Mason was located and arrested for Assault Second Degree and Burglary. Mr. Mason was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Monday, June 17, 2013 at 10:44pm, TFC M. Pitcher conducted a traffic stop on a white passenger car near the area of Route 4 and Oaks Drive, for a minor traffic infraction. While speaking with the operator, Michael Montae White, 27, of Lusby, an odor of marijuana was detected. A search of the vehicle was conducted and led to the recovery of CDS and the arrest of Mr. White. Mr. White was transported to the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack, where he was charged with the possession of CDS and later released.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 11:30am, Tpr. S. Gallagher served a Parole Violation Retake Warrant (T3-16038) on Rodrigo Vargas-Arnez, 32, of Fredericksburg, VA. The warrant was issued by the Circuit Court of St. Mary's County with the original charge of Assault Second Degree and Stalking. Mr. Vargas-Arnez was located at Parole & Probation and was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was served and held without bond.

THEFT: On Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 7:42pm, Tpr. E. Krenik responded to the Lexington Park McKay's Grocery Store - 46075 Signature Lane, Lexington Park, MD for the reported Theft of cosmetics. A 16 year old female juvenile from the Great Mills area was located and arrested for the Theft. The juvenile was transported to the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack where she was processed and charged accordingly. The juvenile was released to the custody of her parents.

DRUG ARREST: On Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at 11:22pm, TFC M. Pitcher conducted a traffic stop on a blue passenger car near the intersection of Route 235 and St. Johns Road, for a minor traffic infraction. While speaking with the driver, Leigha Marie Tudder, 23, of Hollywood, an odor of marijuana was detected. A search of the vehicle was conducted and led to the recovery of CDS and the arrest of Ms. Tudder. Ms. Tudder was transported to the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack, where she was charged with the possession of CDS and later released.
