MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (May 7, 2013)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) released the following incident and arrest reports.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, May 2, 2013, at 1:37pm, Tpr. D. Buckalew served an Arrest Warrant (T3-15979) on Frederick Stanton Duncan, 40, of Lusby. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Fugitive from Justice - Texas on May2, 2013. Mr. Duncan was located in Leonardtown and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, May 2, 2013, at 6:24pm, Tpr. C. Ruth served a Bench Warrant (T3-15922) on Robert Clayton Walnetski, 29, of Mechanicsville. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Assault Second Degree on March 15, 2013. Mr. Walnetski was located during a routine traffic stop and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION: On Monday, May 6, 2013 at approximately 0614 hours a Maryland State Police patrol vehicle was traveling northbound on MD Rt. 235 approaching MD Rt. 489 in Lexington Park, STM, MD. The trooper was responding to an emergency call for service and the patrol vehicle had audible and visual emergency equipment activated. Several vehicles yielded to the patrol vehicle and moved from the travel portion of the roadway. One vehicle remained in the travel portion of the roadway at the intersection of MD Rt. 235 at MD Rt. 489. As the trooper proceeded around the stopped vehicle, the vehicle made a left turn into the path of the patrol vehicle. The vehicles collided in the intersection and subsequently left the roadway before coming to rest. The operators from each vehicle sustained non life-threatening injuries and neither vehicle was transporting passengers. The investigation is continuing.
