Government Building Main Entrance to Close during Construction
The main entrance to the Charles County Government Building (200 Baltimore Street, La Plata) will be closed for construction starting on Friday, March 29. The temporary entrance for the Government Building will be the Human Resources entrance during this time and will be marked with directional signs.
The main entrance is scheduled to re-open on Monday, April 8. Constructions schedules are subject to change due to adverse weather conditions or unforeseen events.

Commissioners to Hold Town Hall Meetings in April
The Charles County Commissioners invite the public to attend March town hall meetings as scheduled below. The purpose of the Commissioners' town hall meetings is to take questions from those in attendance and to discuss items of importance to the citizens and the community.

Cancer of the Colon Health Forum Set for April 11
Event is opportunity to learn about serious but preventable disease
The Area Council on Aging will host a Cancer of the Colon Health Forum on Thursday, April 11 at the Clark Senior Center (1210 Charles St., La Plata) from 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. Learn about diagnosis, prevention and treatment methods related to cancer of the colon.
The forum moderator is Dr. Guillermo Sanchez, with Dr. Seetaramayya Nagula, Dr. Suryakant J. Patel and Dr. Krishan Mathur as featured presenters. The registration deadline is Friday, April 5 at 10 a.m. Call Ms. Janice Hamby at 301-609-5702 to register.
Doctor's Day Proclaimed in Charles County
On Wednesday, March 20, the Charles County Commissioners issued proclamation #2013-14 designating March 27 as Doctor's Day in Charles County. The annual observance of Doctors' Day shows appreciation for the role of physicians in ministering to the sick, alleviating human suffering and advancing the art and science of medicine. The Charles County Commissioners recognize Doctors' Day in Charles County, and invite citizens to join in honoring and expressing sincere gratitude to physicians.
