DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On March 2 at 3:20 a.m., unknown suspects damaged three mailboxes and knocked over a trash can and basketball hoop in the 6400 block of Warren C. Eller Drive in La Plata. PFC D. Raby is investigating.

BURGLARY: On Feb. 28 between 11 a.m. - 10:20 p.m., unknown suspect(s) stole the tires from a disabled SUV which was parked in a garage in the 8600 block of Brooks Farm Road in Bel Alton. Three dirt bikes were also stolen. Officer C. Figgins is investigating.

DETECTIVES IDENTIFY BURGLARY SUSPECT BASED ON PHOTO FROM HOME SURVEILLANCE CAMERA: Detectives assigned to the Charles County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division have obtained an arrest warrant for Michael Turner Bice, 20, of Mechanicsville, after linking him to a home burglary.

On Feb. 22 at 9:20 a.m., the victim was returning to his house in the 17000 block of Teague's Point Road in Hughesville when he saw a white male - wearing dark clothing and carrying a back pack - exit his residence. The victim confronted the burglar but the suspect hit him and fled on a bicycle. The victim went inside his residence but did notice anything missing so he did not call police.

A couple of days later, the victim noticed money and several coin collections were missing. He contacted the neighborhood watch program and provided them with a picture of the suspect. The picture was taken from a surveillance camera the victim has mounted outside his house. The neighborhood watch coordinator contacted Sgt. C. Baker of the COP's Unit who met with the victim and retrieved the evidence.

Detectives reviewed the surveillance footage and recognized the suspect as Bice. An arrest warrant was obtained charging Bice with burglary, assault and theft. He also has open warrants in St. Mary's County. Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Michael Bice is asked to call the Charles County Sheriff's Office at (301) 932-2222. Callers wishing to remain anonymous may contact Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS or Text CHARLES + your tip to CRIMES or visit http://www.ccso.us to submit a web tip. Det. J. Feldman is investigating.
