MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Dec. 19, 2012)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) released the following incident and arrest reports.

TROOPER CRUISER CRASH: On December 18 at 4:24 p.m., a marked Maryland State Police cruiser, T-31, assigned to the Leonardtown Barrack was involved in a motor vehicle collision. The operator of T-31 was Tfc. Jeffery Gibson, a five year veteran of the State Police. Tfc. Gibson was traveling northbound on MD Rt. 235, north of Exploration Drive in Lexington Park. He was responding to an emergency call with his emergency lights and siren activated.

A 2001 Dodge Dakota pick-up truck, operated by Christopher Munson of Lusby, turned left at the cross over from south bound Rt. 235 in front of Quality Transfer and Storage. Munson was attempting to drive into the lot south of Quality Transfer and Storage when he drove into the path of Tfc. Gibson's police vehicle and was struck on the passenger side of his truck.

Tfc. Gibson had to be extricated from his vehicle by the Bay District Volunteer Fire Department. He was flown by Trooper 7 to the Prince George's Hospital Center where he was treated and released. Munson was able to exit his vehicle on his own and he did not seek medical treatment at the scene.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, December 14, at 2:00pm, TFC N. Gresko served a Bench Warrant (T3-15795) on Benjamin Glenn Sims, 26, of Waldorf. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Driving while Suspended on December 5. Mr. Sims turned himself into the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center were he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, December 14, at 5:32pm, Tpr. E. Reuschling served an Arrest Warrant (T3-15803) on Samuel Stephen Tayman, 18, of Bryantown. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Malicious Destruction of Property over Five Hundred Dollars on December 7. Mr. Tayman was located at his residence and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, December 14, at 5:39pm, Tpr. W. Couter served a Bench Warrant (T3-15730) on Bobbie Ann Cavey, 48, of California. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Driving while Suspended on October 17. Ms. Cavey was located in Mechanicsville and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. She was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, December 14, at 7:53pm, Tpr. E. Reuschling served a Bench Warrant (T3-15804) on James Robert Clarke, 55, of Hollywood. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Driving while Suspended on December 12. Mr. Clarke was located at his residence and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Saturday, December 15, at 3:45pm, Tpr. S. Ditoto served a Bench Warrant (T3-15743) on Dedron Manuel Neal, 20, of California. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Knowingly Driving / Owner Knowingly Permitting to be driven an Uninsured Vehicle on October 29. Mr. Neal was located at the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Saturday, December 15, at 4:45pm, TFC E. Mersman served a Bench Warrant (T3-15806) on Adam Jacob Powell, 26, of La Plata. The warrant was issued by the District Court of Charles County with an original charge of Driving while Suspended on May 17. Mr. Powell was located during a routine traffic stop and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
