LEONARDTOWN, Md.—St. Mary's County Public Schools (SMCPS) announced that Mrs. Trish Post has been awarded the Comptroller of Maryland's Golden Apple Award. This award recognizes the extraordinary volunteers who work within the Maryland public school system who have demonstrated superior work and have ultimately impacted the future success of Maryland students.
Post currently serves as president of the County Council of PTAs. She has also served as a council representative to the Maryland State PTA, co-chair for two redistricting committees, school calendar committee, school policy and regulation committee, chair of the Reflections Art Gala, safety and security advisory committee, and chair of the CCPTA/Lettie Marshall Dent Scholarship committee.
"I feel education is the heart of any community and to encourage continued prosperity in St. Mary's County we need a top notch educational system," said Post in a statement.
Comptroller Peter Franchot presented the award to Post on Monday, December 10, at Great Mills High School.
