CALIFORNIA, Md.—Local government entities have announced the following schedule changes in observance of Veteran's Day on Monday, November 12.
Calvert County
Calvert County government offices will be closed on Monday, Nov. 12.
The three county senior centers will be closed on Veterans Day. Meals on Wheels will be delivered.
All county solid waste facilities, including the Appeal Landfill and county convenience centers, will be open for normal business hours on Veterans Day.
County public transportation will not be available on Veterans Day.
Calvert Library locations will be closed on Veterans Day.
County parks and the Calvert Marine Museum will be open normal hours.
Charles County
The offices of Charles County Government and the Tri-County Animal Shelter in Hughesville will be closed on Monday, Nov. 12.
The Charles County Landfill and Recycling Center off Billingsley Road in Waldorf, and the Pisgah Recycling Center on Route 425 in Pisgah will be open for normal business hours. Every-other-week curbside recycling "blue bin" collection service will not be affected.
The Crain Memorial Welcome Center will be open for normal business hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Welcome Center is located at 12480 Crain Highway in Newburg.
VanGO will be operating reduced hours on Monday, Nov. 12. All bus service will operate normally throughout the day but will end early as follows:
-- Last departures from the Waldorf transfer point for the 301 Connector, Business A, Business B, and Charlotte Hall will be at 5:30 p.m. Last departures from the Waldorf transfer point for Berry Road, Indian Head, Pinefield, St. Charles A, St. Charles B, and St. Charles C will be at 6 p.m.
-- Last departures from the La Plata transfer point for Newburg will be at 4:30 p.m. Last departures from the La Plata transfer point for the 301 Connector, Nanjemoy, and Bryans Road will be at 5:30 p.m. Last departure from the La Plata transfer point for La Plata will be at 6 p.m.
The following schedule changes and closures will also be in effect:
-- Lackey and North Point High indoor pools will be open from 1 p.m. - 9 p.m.
-- The Port Tobacco Recreation Center will be open from 4:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.
-- All park facilities and Elite Gymnastics will be open for normal operating hours.
-- All Senior Centers and the Nanjemoy Community Center are closed.
-- All Community Centers are closed.

St. Mary's County
All St. Mary's County Government Offices will be closed on Monday, November 12. County offices will re-open on Tuesday, November 13.
The Solid Waste/Recycling Program, Landfill, six convenience centers and the St. Mary's Transit System (STS) will be open and operating normal business hours on Monday, November 12.
All three St. Mary's County Libraries will be closed on Monday, November 12 and will re-open on Tuesday, November 13.
All Senior Activity Centers will be closed on Monday, November 12. Also, there will be no Meals on Wheels delivery. They will resume their normal schedule on Tuesday, November 13.
