Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (October 31, 2012)—The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

WEEKLY SUMMARY: During the week of October 22 through October 28, deputies responded to 1,602 calls for service throughout the community.

BURGLARY CASE #12-66068: A home in the 10000 block of Old Mill Drive in Lusby was burglarized during the daytime hours on October 22 with approximately $1200 in items stolen. DFC J. Hardesty is investigating.

BURGLARY CASE #12-66238: Someone stole approximately $1000 of copper piping from the basement of a home on Deane Avenue in Prince Frederick between October 22 and 23. DFC M. Robshaw is handling the investigation.

DRUG ARREST CASE #12-66510: On October 24 at 1:31 p.m. Cpl. J. McCarroll stopped a vehicle for speeding in the southbound lane of Md. Rt. 4 near Doris Drive in Owings. He arrested the driver, Richard Lee Foster, Jr., 27 of Owings, and charged him with possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, a multi-colored glass smoking device. Foster was also cited for driving on a suspended license.

THEFT CASE #12-66554: Someone stole a black canvas tool bag containing various tools valued at $100 from an unlocked vehicle parked outside a home on 8th Street in Chesapeake Beach. It happened overnight between October 23 and 24. DFC S. Esposito is investigating.

DRUG ARREST CASE #12-66739: DFC R. Kreps arrested two people on October 25 at 12:32 p.m. on Md. Rt. 2 in Sunderland after stopping their vehicle for violations. The driver, John Alfred Douglas, Jr., 53 of Lusby, was driving on a suspended license and also had an open warrant through the state of Texas. The vehicle tag was also registered to a different vehicle. Douglas was charged with driving on a suspended license and arrested on the open warrant. The passenger, Judy Ann Douglas, 56, also of Lusby, was arrested and charged with possession of a schedule IV drug: Carisoprodol and use of drug paraphernalia, a pill grinder containing a white powdery residue. Judy Douglas also had an active warrant out of Texas and was arrested on the warrant.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY CASE #12-66777: Someone shot a small dog with a pellet gun while the dog was inside his owner's fenced-in yard on Vera Court in Lusby. It happened on October 24 between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. The dog owner said the Pekingese was taken to a veterinarian for medical attention where they told him the dog had been shot in the shoulder. The dog is recovering. Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC J. Bell at 410-535-2800.

THEFT OF VEHICLE CASE #12-67391: Someone stole a 1997 tan colored Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicle from in front of a home on Stephen Reid Road in Huntingtown while the owner was inside at a party on the evening of October 27 into the early morning hours of October 28. Dep. J. Cutchin is investigating.

DRUG ARREST CASE #12-67392: On October 28 at 3:45 a.m. Dep. B. Schaefer was assisting with a vehicle crash that had occurred on Sollers Wharf Road when another vehicle came toward the deputies and failed to stop when ordered to. The vehicle came in close proximity to where the deputies were standing. Dep. Schaefer caught up to the vehicle and made contact with the driver, identified as Everett Lorenzo Ray, IV, 20 of Cheltenham. Ray was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and possession of marijuana and use of drug paraphernalia, a clear plastic baggie used to contain marijuana, and unlawfully throwing litter.
