PATUXENT RIVER, Md. (October 18, 2012)—Today at 9:51 a.m., NAS Patuxent River police responded to a situation on the installation where an employee was reported to have made threats in his work area. An individual was quickly apprehended and the situation contained, according to Gary Younger, Public Affairs Officer for Naval Air Station Patuxent River.
"We take threats very seriously and our first priority is the safety and security of our employees," said Capt. Ted Mills, NAS Patuxent River Commanding Officer in a statement.
The NAS Police responded as the result of a report from the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office. The incident is under investigation.
