LA PLATA, Md. (October 4, 2012)—The Charles County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

THEFT: Between Sept. 22 - Oct. 3, unknown suspect(s) stole an air conditioning unit from the yard of a vacant house in the 15000 of Hunter Harbor Lane in La Plata. Officer R. Gass is investigating.

DETECTIVES IDENTIFY AND ARREST ROBBERY SUSPECTS: On Oct. 3, detectives assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division arrested Demarco Campbell, 18, of Bryans Road, for his involvement in an armed robbery of a young adult who was trying to purchase a pair of tennis shoes he saw posted on facebook.

On Sept. 5, the victim, 18, arranged to meet the person selling the shoes at an address on Kings Way Drive in White Plains. During the exchange, an unknown male ran up to the victim, displayed a gun and took the victim's money. The suspect then fled with the person who was allegedly selling the shoes. The victim called police.

Detectives soon identified the person selling the shoes as a 15-year-old male from Bryans Road. They also determined he set up the robbery. The teen was arrested on Sept. 14. Detectives subsequently identified Campbell as the gunman and he was arrested on Oct. 3. Both suspects were charged with armed robbery, robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, use of a firearm in commission of a violent crime, illegally carrying a handgun and theft. Det. J. THEFT OF COOKING OIL: On Oct. 3 at about 1:39 a.m., officers responded to the 10400 block of O'Donnell Place in Waldorf after a witness called to report seeing a white pumper truck with a green tank pull up to the side of a restaurant and pump cooking oil out of a large container that was temporarily being stored outside. The restaurant's manager checked the container and said about 500 gallons of cooking oil had been stolen. The oil may have been stolen to be used as a fuel source. Witnesses say there were two suspects. One suspect was described as a white male, 5'9", 250 pounds, and wearing a white tee shirt. The other suspect was a black male, about 5'10", 300 pounds, and wearing a white tee shirt. Anyone with information is asked to call the Charles County Sheriff's Office at (301) 932-2222. DETECTIVES CHARGE MAN IN CONNECTION WITH SEXUAL SOLICITATION AND ASSAULT OF A CHILD: Charles County Sheriff's detectives assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division recently arrested Rodney Pontell Sisco, 46, of Waldorf, in connection with sexual abuse of a 14-year-old girl. The abuse first occurred when the victim was introduced to Sisco through a mutual acquaintance in early September. Since then, the victim reported Sisco sexually assaulted her on two different occasions; one at gunpoint. On Oct. 2, Sisco was arrested and charged with first-degree rape, second-degree rape, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and sexual solicitation of a miner. THEFTS FROM AUTOS: Between Oct. 2- Oct. 3, unknown suspect(s) broke into several cars that were left overnight at the Mattawoman Park and Ride on Leonardtown Road in Waldorf. The suspects broke out the windows of the cars and stole items like iPods and money which were left inside the vehicles. Officer I. Bier is investigating.

CITIZEN ROBBERY: On Oct. 2 between 11:45 p.m. - 11:50 p.m., a man reported he was walking his dog in the 100 block of Oriole Lane in La Plata when two men drove up in a car. The men got out of their vehicle, pulled a handgun and demanded money. The victim complied and the suspects fled. The man went home and notified police and officers canvassed the area.

The suspects are described as black males. One suspect is 6'0", 200 lbs., shoulder length braids, moustache and a goatee. The other suspect is about 5'9", stocky build, clean shaven, and had a shaved head. They were driving an older model white Toyota Camry with a tinted rear window (which had numerous air bubbles) and Maryland tags. There have been no other similar reports.
