Charles County Sheriff's Reports


LA PLATA, Md. (September 11, 2012)—The Charles County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

VANDALISM: On Sept. 10 at 1:40 a.m., unknown suspect(s) broke out the front window of the Cobb Island Market in the 17000 block of Cobb Island Road in Cobb Island. Officers responded and it appeared no one gained entry. The area was canvassed for witnesses and the scene was processed for evidence. Cpl. R. Zink is investigating.

FIRST-DEGREE ASSAULT: On Sept. 10 at 11:57 p.m., officers responded to the 2800 block of Lyon Court in Waldorf for the report of an assault. Investigation showed the victim, 25, was staying the night at a friend's house when he was confronted by someone at the residence about money he owed them. The victim left the house and was immediately confronted by at least three other males who punched him and stabbed him. The victim sustained several injuries and was transported to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Officer I. Bier is continuing the investigation.

VANDALISM/RRE: On Sept. 7 at 8 p.m., officers responded to the area of Sweetman Road and Chicamuxen Road in Marbury for the report of vandalism. Unknown suspect(s) spray painted a racial slur on the bottom of a street sign. Officers canvassed the areas for witnesses and processed the scene for evidence. Sgt. J. Hastings is investigating.
