LA PLATA, Md.—The College of Southern Maryland Foundation has announced the additions of Wesley Donovan, Paul Facchina Jr., E. Rané Franklin, Carmen Lee Nance Gambrill and Robert V. Price Jr. as foundation directors.
Donovan is vice president of the Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa and vice president/owner of Beach Boys Pizza, a Papa John’s franchisee overseeing the day-to-day operations of 12 stores. The two businesses employ more than 600 workers. He is a member of the CSM Advisory Council for Calvert County and The Green Team of Chesapeake Beach. He has attended the Disney Institute on Leadership as well as The Franklin Covey Institute’s seminar “7 Habits of Highly Successful People.”
“I take pride in being a lifelong resident of Calvert County. My wife Julie and I live in Chesapeake Beach with our three young children and we are continuing the family tradition of working and contributing to our local community,” said Donovan.
Facchina is a division manager of Facchina Construction Company, Inc. He served a six-year term on the board for the United Way of Charles County and is a member of the United Way’s golf tournament committee. He has a bachelor’s degree in finance from Towson University.

Franklin is president of Everilis Communications providing marketing, public relations, publicity services, crisis communications and media training. She honed her skills working in local government, the entertainment field and with a national media company. She also serves as president of the Southern Maryland Chapter of Jack & Jill of America (an African-American organization for mothers to benefit their children). She is chairperson of the Arts Facet of the Southern Maryland Chain Chapter of the Links, Inc. and serves on the Calvert County Arts Council and CSM’s Advisory Board for Calvert County. Originally from Long Island, N.Y., Franklin has resided in Maryland for the past 16 years. Her partner in life and work, Eric Franklin, president and CEO of Erimax, Inc., was the 2011 recipient of the CSM Leading Edge Award. She has a master’s degree in music and a master’s in public administration from Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus.
"I am excited to be a part of the CSM Foundation Board. In these times, the resources that the foundation provides to students for scholarships and activities are greatly needed. It is worth everything if I can help someone achieve their goals through education at CSM," Franklin said.
Gambrill is the owner of carmen’s gallery in Solomons. She is a former president and current board member of the Solomons Business Association, a member of the Solomons Civic Association and P.A.W.S. Animal Rescue Organization, and a former director of Asbury Solomons and of Calvert Marine Museum. Gambrill earned a bachelor’s in early childhood education from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master’s in special education with emphasis on children with severe disabilities from Boston University.
“I was a teacher for more than 20 years and place a very high value on education. It is an honor to use my expertise in education and as a business owner to support CSM. I have been more than impressed by the representatives of the college and their support of its mission,” said Gambrill.
Price is the president of Price Financial Group, Inc. which creates financial and estate plans for individuals and businesses. He is a registered representative of the Securities and Exchange Commission and a licensed insurance broker. Price is the past president of the Prince George’s County Life Underwriters Association, the Maryland State Association of Life Underwriters, the Leaders Club of Washington and the Chartered Financial Consultants. He has a master’s degree in financial services from the American College and has earned Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations.
“I have always believed that education does not guarantee you success. It does, however, provide you with opportunities of being successful that do not exist without the knowledge acquired through education,” said Price.
The College of Southern Maryland Foundation, established in 1970, is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization with a charge to promote academic excellence, growth, progress and the general welfare of the College of Southern Maryland by raising and managing funds, and providing support to strengthen and develop the college and its objectives.
