MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (September 4, 2012)—The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On 8/27/2012 at 4:04 pm, Trooper First Class Sorenson responded to the 1900 block of Solomons Island Rd. in Huntingtown for a reported destruction of property. During the course of eviction, Jonathan P. Oakley, 22 of Huntingtown, the tenant, caused extensive damage to the home. Charges are pending at this time.

POSSESSION OF SYNTHETIC MARIJUANA: On 8/28/2012 at 3:44 am, Trooper First Class Evans stopped a vehicle in the K-Mart Parking lot in Prince Frederick for traffic violations. The driver, Miguel A. Hernandez, 18 of St. Leonard, was found to be in possession of synthetic Marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION OF XANAX: On 8/29/2012 at 8:42 am, Trooper Palumbo stopped a vehicle at Rt. 261 and Windward Key Dr. for traffic violations. Denise M. Long, 19 of Temple Hills, was found to be in possession of Xanax for which she did not have a prescription. She was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

BURGLARY: On 8/29/2012 at 8:02 pm, Trooper First Class Sorenson responded to the 2000 block of Lower Marlboro Rd. in Huntingtown for a reported burglary. Unknown suspect(s) entered the home through an unlocked door and stole several items, including a Sony Camcorder, jewelry and baseball cards. Investigation continues.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 8/31/2012 at 10:55 pm, Trooper Oles stopped a vehicle at Rt. 4 and Cove Point Rd. in Lusby for traffic violations. A strong odor of marijuana was emitting from inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed Marijuana and drug paraphernalia. William G. Simpson, 19 of Prince Frederick, was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center for possession of marijuana. A seventeen year old juvenile was also charged and released to his parents.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: On 9/1/2012 at 9:46 pm, Trooper First Class Merkelson responded to the Crooked Eye Bar in Chesapeake Beach for a report of disorderly conduct. Lois M. Gignac, 48 of Chesapeake Beach, was highly intoxicated and walking in front of vehicles. She was taken to the hospital for emergency evaluation. Charges are pending.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 9/3/2012 at 2:04 am, Trooper First Class Esnes stopped a vehicle at Wades Way and Crane Rd. in Port Republic for traffic violations. The strong odor of marijuana was detected from within the vehicle. Anthony W. Jones, 23 of St. Leonard, and Stanley M. Weitz-Coppersmith, 20 of Lusby, were found to be in possession of marijuana. They were arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.
