Charles County Sheriff's Reports


LA PLATA, Md. (August 23, 2012)—The Charles County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

PATROL OFFICERS APPREHEND THEFT SUSPECTS: On Aug. 22 at 4:57 a.m., officers responded to the area of Copley Avenue and Garner Avenue in Waldorf for the report of two suspicious juveniles. As officers approached, the subjects fled. Officers determined the suspects had just broken into a car. The officers pursued the suspects on foot and apprehended them a short distance away. A small amount of change, which had been stolen from the car, was recovered. Both suspects, age 14, were charged with theft. Officer D. Proctor investigated.

BURGLARY: On Aug. 22 between 12:30 a.m. - 7 a.m., unknown suspect(s) broke into Lefty's BBQ at 2064 Crain Highway in Waldorf and smashed several cash registers. The owner does not leave money in the registers therefore, nothing was stolen. Officers processed the scene and recovered evidence. Pfc. R. Bagley is investigating.
