Charles County Sheriff's Reports


LA PLATA, Md. (August 21, 2012)—The Charles County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

BURGLARY: On Aug. 17 between 7 a.m. - 6:45 p.m., unknown suspect(s) broke into a house in the 2600 block of Rooks Head Place in Waldorf and stole a jar of coins. Officers processed the scene and recovered evidence. Officer P. Morgan, III is investigating.

BURGLARY: On Aug. 17 between 2 p.m. - 4 p.m., unknown suspect(s) broke into a house in the 3800 block of Kearny's Inn Place in Waldorf and stole a wallet. Officer P. Morgan, III is investigating.

OFFICERS CHARGE MAN WITH THEFT: On Aug. 16 at 4:15 p.m., officers assigned to the CCSO Tactical Response Team were in the area of Smallwood Shopping Center when they observed a man exit a white work van near the grocery store. The man proceeded to load several aluminum stands - which were lying in the parking lot - into his vehicle; the aluminum pieces were part of the cart return covers. The man got back into his van and exited the parking lot at which time officers initiated a traffic stop. A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of the stands as well as additional pieces of aluminum pipes stolen from the store just one day earlier. Joseph Alexander Freeman, Sr., 52, of Bowie, was issued a criminal summons charging him with theft. PFC R. Gottschall investigated.

MAN CHARGED WITH THEFT: On Aug.15, Frank Earl Robinson, 44, of Brandywine, was served a criminal summons relating to the theft of scrap metal that occurred in the 3700 block of Iowa Place in Brandywine last May. Robinson was charged with burglary and theft. Det. D. Savoy of the CCSO Criminal Investigations Division investigated.
