St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (July 9, 2012)—The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office has released the following incident and arrest reports.

BURGLARY ARRESTS: From June 5 through July 6, Police units responded to multiple burglaries to residential area sheds in the Hollywood area of St. Mary's County where power tools, lawn care equipment, and other hand tools were stolen. Based on informational exchanges during weekly CompStat meetings, a trend was developed and the cases were assigned to the Bureau of Criminal Investigations for additional investigation. During the investigation, two suspects were identified by detectives leading to the arrest of Michael A. Bassford, age 20, and Crista A. Snyder, age 33, both of Hollywood. Bassford and Snyder were each charged with 6 counts of Burglary and 1 count of Theft Scheme over $1,000 but less than $10,000. Bassford was incarcerated in the St. Mary's County Detention Center under $50,000 bond. Snyder was incarcerated under a $6,000 bond. Additional Charges are pending a review by the State's Attorney's Office.

DRUG ARREST: On July 4 at approximately 7:03 pm, DFC Meyer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for violation of a traffic on Three Notch Road and Beck Road in Hollywood. Dfc. Meyer made contact with the driver, Dylan Marshall Hill, 20, of Hollywood, and passenger Andrew Steven Turkovich, Jr., 19, of California. After a brief conversation with the driver, a probable cause search of Turkovich was conducted which resulted in locating a clear plastic bag containing suspected heroin wrapped in paper found on Turkovich's person. A further search of the vehicle revealed a cigarette box containing clear plastic capsules with suspected heroin found under the driver's seat. Hill was arrested and charged with CDS Possession of Paraphernalia. Turkovich was arrested and charged with CDS Possession - Not Marijuana and CDS Possession of Paraphernalia.

DRUG ARREST: Vice Narcotics detectives began communicating with suspect Lindsey Nicole Williams, age 20, about purchasing Oxycodone. Williams has a history of both selling drugs and stealing money of potential drug purchasers. A meeting was arranged and Williams was arrested. Detectives were able to identify a residence she was staying at in the Leonardtown area. With the assistance of the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office Emergency Services Team, a search and seizure warrant was executed. Detectives recovered Oxycodone, drug paraphernalia, and possible stole items. Suspect John Thomas Heiston, age 29, was located inside the residence and he was arrested on open warrants from both Charles and St. Mary's Counties. Additional charges are pending against both suspects. A third suspect was detained and identified and he too will face drug charges after a review with the State's Attorney's Office.
