LEONARDTOWN, Md. (June 13, 2012)The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) has released the following incident and arrest reports.
TRAFFIC ADVISORY: The 2012 AMA Pro National Championship returns to Budds Creek this weekend. The main event will be occurring on Saturday, June 16th at 1:00pm. This event traditionally has drawn large crowds from surrounding areas. Motorists are advised to avoid the area of Maryland Route 234 in Budds Creek if at all possible on Saturday early morning and late afternoon time frames. It is recommended that motorists use alternate local routes to avoid the congestion in this area.
THEFT UNDER $100: On Wednesday, June 6 at 1:27pm, Tpr. W. A. Couter responded to the Wal-Mart located on Miramar Way in California for a reported theft. Upon arrival, contact was made with Loss Prevention personnel who advised a female subject was observed in various locations of the establishment concealing merchandise in a bag that was located in a shopping cart. The female was observed making a legitimate purchase of some items, however, no attempt was made to purchase the items concealed in the bag. Contact was made with the suspect when she attempted to exit the store. The female, identified as Dayna Renee Landcaster, 37, of Lexington Park was escorted to the Loss Prevention Office pending the arrival of Law Enforcement. Following the statement provided by Loss Prevention personnel, Tpr. Couter made contact with Ms. Landcaster, whom provided a statement regarding the theft. Ms. Landcaster was subsequently arrested for Theft Less Than $100.00 and issued a Criminal Citation and mandatory court date prior to being released from the scene. All merchandise was returned to Loss Prevention.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, June 7 at 12:40pm, TFC R. L. Jackson served a Bench Warrant (T3-15377) on Charles Clayton Beach, 36, of Fort Washington. The warrant was issued on Mr. Beach on February 14 by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Theft - $500.00 Plus Value. Mr. Beach was located at the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, June 7 at 1:14pm, TFC R. L. Jackson served an Attachment for Contempt on Jennifer Lynn Snavely, 24, of Great Mills. The attachment was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on June 7. Ms. Snavely was taken into custody at the District Court and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Thursday, June 7 at 3:07pm, TFC G. A. Thompson responded to the 22000 block of Valley Estates Drive in Lexington Park for a reported assault. Upon arrival, contact was made with a female complainant, 27, of Lexington Park who advised a male victim, 3, of Lexington Park was playing in the community park when an unknown subject began throwing rocks, subsequently striking the victim in the head causing injury. Following contact with the complainant, TFC Thompson made contact with several witnesses that provided statements regarding the incident. Information provided by the witnesses led to the identification of a suspect. TFC Thompson located and made contact with a male juvenile, 12, of Lexington Park who was determined to be the suspect in the incident. A statement was obtained and the juvenile was arrested for Second Degree Assault, prior to being released on the scene pending further action by Juvenile Services.
DRUG ARREST: On Friday, June 8 at 12:45pm, Cpl. P. A. Trossbach was conducting speed enforcement in the area of Maryland Route 5 in Loveville when he stopped a silver Ford for a traffic violation. Upon approaching the vehicle, Cpl. Trossbach made contact with a female operator, Linnea Marie Morgan Pratt, 31, of Mechanicsville. Conversation with Ms. Pratt resulted information pertaining to a used hypodermic needle in the vehicle. Following the arrival of TFC R. L. Jackson to assist on the stop, the additional occupants were removed from the vehicle and a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted. The probable cause search revealed various forms of CDS and CDS Paraphernalia. Interviews were subsequently conducted on the scene with the occupants of the vehicle. Information provided by the subjects resulted in the arrest of Linnea Marie Morgan Pratt, 31, of Mechanicsville, Jennifer Lynn Willis, 27, of California and Scott Christopher Gingery, 23, of Mechanicsville. All three subjects were transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where they were charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Saturday, June 9 at 2:35am, Tpr. E. T. Reuschling served a Bench Warrant (T3-15525) on Eileen D. Jackson, 44, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued for Ms. Jackson's arrest on May 31 by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Trespass: Private Property. Ms. Jackson was located in the 21000 block of Great Mills Road in Lexington Park and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, June 11 at 11:45am, TFC A. J. Malaspina served a Bench Warrant (T3-15526) on William Erick Stommel, 33, of Huntingtown. The warrant was issued on May 31 with an original charge of Driving Under the Influence by the District Court of St. Mary's County. Mr. Stommel was located when he turned himself into the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and served prior to being held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
