LEONARDTOWN, Md. (May 24, 2012)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.
ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Friday, May 18 at 9:24pm, TFC J. A. Pilkerton responded to the Leonardtown Fire House in the 22000 block of Lawrence Avenue in Leonardtown for a reported assault. Upon arrival, contact was made with a female complainant, 42, of Leonardtown who advised she was assaulted by William Aloysius Barry, 42, of Leonardtown. According the complainant, the assault occurred following a verbal discussion and upon being able to safely remove herself from the environment she responded to the Fire House for assistance. After receiving the statement from the complainant, TFC Pilkerton responded to the scene of the assault, also in the 22000 block of Lawrence Avenue, and made contact with Mr. Barry. Mr. Barry acknowledged that an incident occurred and provided TFC Pilkerton with his account of the situation. Based on information provided by both parties, TFC Pilkerton arrested William Barry for Second Degree Assault. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
DRUG ARREST: On Sunday, May 20 at 2:56am, TFC G. A. Thompson was conducting a neighborhood canvas related to crime already under investigation when he observed a male subject walking in the area. TFC Thompson stopped his vehicle in the area of Maryland Route 246 and St. Mary's Square and made contact with the subject. As the subject, identified as Thomas Raymond Banks, 55, of Great Mills, approached TFC Thompson he removed an item from his pants pocket and attempted to drop it on the ground. The item was retrieved and determined to be CDS Paraphernalia containing CDS residue. Mr. Banks was subsequently arrested for Possession of CDS / Paraphernalia. He was issued a criminal citation with a mandatory court date and released from the scene.
BURGLARY: On Sunday, May 20 at 6:00am, TFC M. A. Moore and Tpr. S. M. Morton responded to the 15000 block of Point Lookout Road in Saint Inigoes for a reported dispute and possible MDOP. While en route information was disseminated regarding the suspect on the scene having an open warrant. Upon arrival, contact was made with a female complainant, 43, of Saint Inigoes who advised a male subject unlawful gained entry into her residence and refused to leave. The complainant and a witness provided information on the subject and the current circumstances regarding the relationships between them and the suspect. Upon entering the residence, TFC Moore made contact with Daniel Brian Evans, 25, of No Fixed Address and placed him under arrest. Mr. Evans was uncooperative and extremely combative. He was immediately transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
THEFT LESS THAN $100: On Sunday, May 20 at 1:22pm, Tpr. S. M. Morton responded to the 21000 block of Peabody Street in Leonardtown for a reported theft. Upon arrival, contact was made with a male complainant, 52, of Chaptico who advised a male victim, 82, of Leonardtown had a credit card and US currency stolen from his wallet. The complainant was able to provide a time frame for the reported theft and at a later date information pertaining to locations where the card was used. Based on information provided by the complainant, Tpr. Morton was able to contact the establishments for surveillance video. After reviewing the footage, Tpr. Morton returned to the St. Mary's Nursing Center and made contact with administration that was able to provide information to assist with the investigation. Based on information provided and the footage observed, Tpr. Morton made contact with Debbie Meshill Baker, 40, of Lexington Park. It was determined that Ms. Baker worked during the time of the theft and had access to the area where the theft occurred. Ms. Baker provided Tpr. Morton with a statement and was arrested for Theft Less Than $100.00. She was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
THEFT LESS THAN $100: On Monday, May 21 at 6:22pm, Tpr. D. Buckalew responded to the Wal-Mart located on Miramar Way in California for a reported theft. Upon arrival, contact was made with Loss Prevention staff who advised a male subject was observed in the lawn and garden section of the store attempting to conceal items in a backpack. The subject was approached by Loss Prevention and detained until Law Enforcement arrival. Contact was made with the subject by Tpr. Buckalew and he was identified as a male juvenile, 15, of Lusby. Based on information provided by both the suspect and the Loss Prevention staff he was arrested for Theft. The juvenile was released on scene to a guardian pending further action by Juvenile Services and all property was returned to Wal-Mart.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, May 22 at 8:12am, TFC E. R. Mersman served a Bench Warrant (T3-15511) on Brandi M. Beckett, 29, of Great Mills. The warrant was issued with an original charge of CDS Possession - Not Marijuana on May 21 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. Ms. Beckett was located at the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Wednesday, May 23 at 6:50am, Tpr. E. T. Reuschling responded to the 45000 block of Church Drive in Lexington Park for a reported assault. Upon arrival, contact was made with the suspect in the assault, Lawrence Alvin Thompson, Jr., 42, of Lexington Park. Mr. Thompson immediately provided Tpr. Reuschling, whom was familiar with Mr. Thompson as a result of an unrelated assault case, with an account of the incident. Contact was then made with a male victim, 37, of Lexington Park who was visibly shaken but able to provide an account of the incident. The victim advised a verbal conversation resulted in him being assault by Mr. Thompson. Based on information provided by the victim, suspect and witnesses, Tpr. Reuschling arrested Mr. Thompson for Second Degree Assault. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
