Charles County Sheriff's Reports


LA PLATA, Md. (May 24, 2012)—The Charles County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

FIRST-DEGREE ASSAULT: On May 24 at 12:01 a.m., officers responded to the Master Suites Hotel at 2228 Old Washington Road in Waldorf for the report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a 27-year-old male with gunshot wounds inside one of the rooms. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital and admitted with serious injuries. A preliminary investigation shows the shooting is drug-related. Detectives assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division are pursuing leads.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY/RRE: Between May 23 - May 24, unknown suspect(s) spray painted profanity and a racial slur on the side door of a building in the 200 block of Gentry Court in Bryans Road. Officers canvassed the area for possible witnesses and processed the scene for evidence. Anyone with information is asked to call the Charles County Sheriff's Office at (301) 932-2222. THEFT OF DIRT BIKES: Between May 22-May 23, during the overnight hours, unknown suspect(s) stole two dirt bikes from a trailer parked in the driveway of a residence in the 6100 block of Bicknell Road in Indian Head. One of the dirt bikes is a 2006 KTM 250 XC-W racing model and the other is a 2007 KTM 125 SX racing model. Both dirt bikes are orange and had the number 318 on the sides and front. Officers canvassed the area for witnesses and processed the scene for evidence. Anyone with information is asked to call the Charles County Sheriff's Office at (301) 932-2222. BURGLARY: Between May 20 - May 21, unknown suspect(s) broke into Trinity Baptist Church in the 2600 block of Mattawoman Beantown Road in Waldorf and stole money and an appliance. Officers canvassed the area for witnesses and processed the scene for evidence. Officer F. Davis is investigating.
