Charles County Sheriff's Reports


LA PLATA, Md. (May 15, 2012)—The Charles County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

BURGLARY: Between May 13 and May 14, a homeowner reported someone broke into his house in the 1200 block of Adams Court in Waldorf and stole cash, clothing, jewelry and electronics. Officer R. Horrocks is investigating.

CAR REPORTED STOLEN: On May 13 between 8 p.m. - 10:50 p.m., a woman reported unknown suspect(s) stole her car -a 2003, black, Cadillac Deville with Maryland tags 6AL1006 - from the 3000 block of Heathcote Road in Waldorf. The victim said she may have left her keys in the ignition by mistake. Anyone with information is asked to call the CCSO at (301) 932-2222. PFC L. Sershen is investigating.

THEFT FROM AUTO: Between May 12 - May 13, unknown suspect(s) broke into a car in the 13000 block of Hillmeade Court in Charlotte Hall and stole money which was left in the car overnight. Officers canvassed the area and did not find any others cars broken into. PFC K. Syvertsen is investigating.

BURGLARY: On May 15 at 2:35 a.m., officers responded to the Burchmart at 10195 Berry Road in Waldorf for the report of an alarm. Officers arrived and discovered the rear door open. A search was conducted but no one was found inside. The suspects stole money and fled. Evidence was collected and processed. Officer P. Morgan, III, is investigating.

OFFICER APPREHENDS THEFT SUSPECTS: On May 11 at 2:35 a.m., an off-duty officer observed a suspicious vehicle behind the Goodyear Tire Center in the 2500 block of Crain Highway in Waldorf. He watched two males remove tires from the lot and place them in the back of a trailer which was attached to their truck. The officer initiated a traffic stop and recovered 16 tires. Charges are pending against the two suspects. PFC. W. Saunders is investigating.

MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH: On May 11 at 12:02 p.m., officers responded to the area of Young Road and Prescott Court in Waldorf for the report of a motor vehicle crash. A preliminary investigation revealed the driver of a Dodge van - a 36-year-old woman from Waldorf - lost control of her vehicle and struck a tree. She was flown to a hospital and treated for serious injuries. The Traffic Operations Unit is continuing the investigation.

ATTEMPT ROBBERY: On May 10 at 7:55 p.m., officers responded to the area of Kingsway Drive in White Plains for the report of an attempt robbery. The victim, 16, said he was walking home when two masked suspects approached and demanded his tennis shoes. The victim refused and ran home. PFC K. Sylvestre is investigating.
