College is Acknowledged for 9th Year

LA PLATA, Md.—The College of Southern Maryland was recognized as a 2012 "triple winner" by the Alliance of Workplace Excellence for the college's commitment to its employees and the community.

"We are excited with the validation of our continued progress towards workplace excellence. This is our ninth year winning this award and we are in good company with other area employers. It is always a pleasure to have your employee engagement efforts recognized but this year it is extra special with the addition of awards for our eco friendly and health and wellness programs," said CSM Human Resources Associate Vice President Denise Bailey Clark.

In 2012 the Alliance recognized 66 companies with the Workplace Excellence Award, 45 companies with the Health and Wellness Trailblazer Award, 28 companies with the EcoLeadership Award and 10 companies as Leading Practitioners in Diversity and Inclusion.

CSM is one of 18 companies who are triple winners-recipients of the Workplace Excellence Seal of Approval, the Health and Wellness Trailblazer Award and the EcoLeadership Award. In addition to CSM, AWE triple winners include, Akridge, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, Booz Allen Hamilton, Calvert Investments, Inc., Carroll Hospital Center, Dynaxys, LLC, Federal Realty Investment Trust, Holy Cross Hospital, Honest Tea, Hughes Network Systems, LLC, JBS International, Inc., MedStar St. Mary's Hospital, Montgomery College, QIAGEN, SRA International and Washington Real Estate Investment Trust.
