PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (May 7, 2012)The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.
WEEKLY SUMMARY: During the week of April 30 through May 6, deputies responded to 1,521 calls for service throughout the community.
THEFT: Someone stole an aluminum boat from the backyard pond of a home on Grovers Turn Lane in Owings sometime on May 4. Cpl. J. McCarroll is investigating.
DRUG ARREST: On May 4 at 3:30 p.m. Cpl. G. Shrawder conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at Calvert Beach Road and Irving Street in St. Leonard. He found the driver, identified as Joseph Ray Townsend, 21 of Waldorf, to be in possession of suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia. Townsend was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance of a schedule I drug; synthetic marijuana, and two counts of possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia; one glass smoking device and one metal smoking device.
FRAUD: An unknown man paid for his purchase at Maggie Moo's Ice Cream Store in Dunkirk with a counterfeit fifty dollar bill on May 5 at about 11:47 a.m. He is described as a black male in his mid-20's, about 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 170 pounds. At the time he was wearing a pink and red striped shirt. Anyone experiencing a similar incident or having further information is asked to contact DFC P. Aurich at 410-535-2800.
