Drug Arrests in St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (May 5, 2012)—The St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) Narcotics Division has released the following incident and arrest reports. The Division is an investigative team comprised of detectives from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, Maryland State Police Drug Enforcement Division, and Federal Drug Agents (HIDTA Group 34). The Division was established on September 1st, 2007 and is based in St. Mary’s County.

INBOUND DRUG COURIER ARRESTED: Vice Narcotics detectives received information that a package containing controlled substances was en route to St. Mary's County for delivery. A search and seizure warrant was obtained and executed before the package was delivered to its destination, a local hotel. Detectives recovered syringes and vials of testosterone and other paraphernalia. The package was intercepted and scanned by K-9 dogs. Arrested was Joshua Wesley Nye, 31, of Kent, Washington.

SALE OF MARIJUANA AND ECSTASY: Vice Narcotics detectives identified John Edward Colleary, IV, 22, of California, as a distributor of controlled dangerous substances. Several undercover purchases of marijuana and ecstasy we conducted. The cases were presented to the St. Mary's County Grand Jury and subsequently arrest warrants were issued.
