MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (April 24, 2012)—The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) has released the following incident and arrest reports.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 4/17/2012 at 7:51 pm, Trooper First Class Lewis stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Skinners Turn Rd. in Owings. A search of the vehicle revealed that Joseph J. Navalaney Jr., 18, and John P. Grogan, 18, both of Owings, were in possession of marijuana. They were arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: On 4/17/2012 at 10:00 pm, Senior Trooper Gill responded to the parking lot of the Giant store in Lusby for a reported theft from a vehicle. While the victim was returning the shopping cart to the front of the store, he purse was stolen from her vehicle. Investigation continues.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 4/18/2012 at 12:15 pm, Trooper S. Lewis stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on HG Truman Rd. in Lusby. A search of the vehicle revealed Marijuana. Dawn M. Johnson, 39 of Lusby, was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On 4/20/2012 at 8:38 am, Trooper Barlow responded to Patuxent Elementary School in Lusby for a reported destruction of property. The gymnasium door and door handle were damaged during an attempted break-in. Investigation continues.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On 4/20/2012 at 7:41 pm, Corporal Fleetwood responded to the 5400 block of Cove View Dr. in St. Leonard for a reported destruction of property. During a dispute, Chad D. L. Wallace, 26 of Prince Frederick, struck the rear window of the victim's vehicle with a closed fist and shattered the window. Charges are pending.

FUGITIVE, DISORDERLY CONDUCT: On 4/20/2012 at 11:00 pm, Dean A. Curry, 40 of Lusby, was escorted from the Tiki Bar by bouncers for disorderly behavior. Once outside the bar, he continued his behavior and was arrested by Trooper Esnes. During the arrest, it was discovered that Curry is a wanted fugitive from Virginia. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On 4/20/2012 at 11:25 pm, Trooper Esnes was on foot patrol on Solomons Island when he observed Nicholas E. Petri, 23 of Carlyle, Illinois acting in a loud and disorderly manner. After refusing to obey the Trooper's orders to cease, he was placed under arrest. After being placed in a Calvert County Detention Center transport van Petri kicked the inside of the van causing damage. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On 4/21/2012 at 11:39 am, Trooper First Class Parker responded to the 14300 block of Solomons Island Rd. in Solomons for a reported destruction of property. The side of the victim's vehicle was damaged. Investigation continues.
