LA PLATA, Md. (April 3, 2012)The Charles County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.
ACCIDENTAL INJURY: On April 1 at 10 a.m., CCSO officers responded to the parking lot of a building in the 5900 block of Radio Station Road in La Plata for the report of an accident involving a fire department training SUV and a Maryland Fire Rescue Institute training instructor. A preliminary investigation showed the driver of the SUV, 22, was practicing maneuvers on a cone course when he lost control of the vehicle and struck the MFRI instructor. The victim, 59, was initially treated on the scene and then flown to Baltimore Shock Trauma where he was admitted with critical injuries. The Traffic Operations Unit is investigating.
POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE: On March 29 at 9:45 p.m., officers were conducting an investigation into a report of drug sales in the parking lot of a gas station in the 4200 block of Crain Highway in White Plains. Officers conducted surveillance and observed three males make a transaction. Upon further investigation and the execution of a search warrant, officers found marijuana and other drug-related evidence. Aldante James Jordan, 21, of Upper Marlboro, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia; Daniel John Alexander, 26, of Pomfret, was arrested and charged with distribution of a controlled dangerous substance; and Michael Edward Messink, 27, of Waldorf, was arrested and charged with conspiracy to distribute a controlled dangerous substance. BURGLARY: Between March 27 - March 29, unknown suspect(s) broke into a carry-out business in the 3300 block of Livingston Road in Indian Head and stole a small amount of cash and several bottles of soda. Officer M. Mellott is investigating.
