MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (March 26, 2012)—The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

DUI, POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 3/19/2012 at 5:14 pm, Trooper First Class Donaldson stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Dalrymple Rd. at Karen Dr. in Chesapeake Beach. The driver, Mona A. Banik, 57 of Sunderland, was arrested for driving under the influence. A search revealed that she was in possession of marijuana. She was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: On 3/19/2012 at 8:05 pm, Trooper Casarella responded to the Mexico Restaurant in Huntingtown for a reported theft. Numerous items were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the parking lot including, a camera, cordless drill and some miscellaneous clothing. Investigation continues.

SHED BURGLARY: On 3/22/2012 at 1:08 pm, Trooper S. Lewis responded to Buckler Rd. in Prince Frederick for a reported theft. A shed was entered and numerous items were stolen, including a battery charger, miscellaneous Snap-On tools and two welders. Investigation continues.

SHOPLIFTING: On 3/22/2012 at 8:38 pm, Trooper First Class West responded to the K-Mart in Prince Frederick for a shoplifting complaint. Investigation revealed that Joann V. Willett, 50 of Huntingtown, removed numerous clothing items from the store without paying for them. She was located and issued a Criminal Citation.

POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE MARIJUANA: On 3/23/2012 at 3:56 am, Troopers from the Leonardtown barrack responded to the 1600 block of Grays Rd. in Port Republic to serve an arrest warrant. Devonte S. Claggett, 19 of Port Republic, was arrested and an open box of marijuana was observed inside the bedroom in plain view along with a digital scale. Drug investigators from the Calvert Investigative Team prepared and executed a search warrant at the residence. Additional evidence relating to the sale and distribution of Marijuana was located. Claggett was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 3/23/2012 at 2:40 pm, Trooper S. Lewis stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Rt. 4 and Norfolk Dr. in Owings. The odor of marijuana was emitting from within the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Jake A. Bradley, 18 of Edgewater was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

FIRST DEGREE ASSAULT, POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 3/24/2012 at 1:55 pm, Trooper S. Barlow responded to the 6800 block of Hallowing Lane in Prince Frederick for a reported man with a gun. Investigation revealed that Mark K. McNeil, 51 of Prince Frederick, threatened two victims with a shotgun. Additionally, a search warrant was obtained and numerous firearms were located inside the residence along with marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

DUI, RESISTING ARREST: On 3/25/2012 at 12:59 am, Trooper S. Lewis stopped a vehicle for traffic violations at Rt. 261 and Tyler's Tackle Shop in Chesapeake Beach. William C. Hall, 27 of Huntingtown was arrested for DUI. While attempting to complete the arrest, Hall began to resist. He was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.
