MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (March 21, 2012)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

THEFT LESS THAN $100: On Tuesday, March 13 at 9:01am, TFC J. S. Gibson responded to an Emergency Communication Broadcast that indicated a theft had just occurred at the Food Lion in St. Mary's Square in Lexington Park. The broadcast provided information regarding the description of the suspect, last known direction of travel and that the items were concealed on his person. Upon arrival in the area, TFC Gibson observed a subject matching the provided description in the area of Maryland Route 246 and South Essex Drive. Contact was made with the individual, later identified as Darwin Terrell Banks, 39, of Lexington Park, who advised he had just left the Food Lion. Mr. Banks was detained and transported to the location of the theft. At the Food Lion, Mr. Banks was positively identified as the suspect in the theft. Statements provided by a witness and Mr. Banks resulted in his arrest for Theft Less Than $100.00. A notice not to trespass was issued to Mr. Banks and he was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Tuesday, March 13 at 10:27am, Tpr. E. T. Reuschling conducted a traffic stop on a Volkswagen in the area of Maryland Route 246 and Kay Drive for a traffic violation. Upon approaching the vehicle, contact was made with Mark Edward Morgan, 21, of Port Republic, who appeared anxious. Mr. Morgan exited the vehicle for a roadside interview, during which information was provided regarding CDS in his possession. A search of the vehicle with Mr. Morgan's consent revealed CDS - Suboxone in the driver's side door of the vehicle. Mr. Morgan was arrested for Possession of CDS and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was charged and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Saturday, March 17 at 4:45pm, TFC N. E. Gresko conducted a traffic stop on a Lincoln Town Car in the area of Pegg Road and Gloucester Court for a traffic violation. While approaching the vehicle, TFC Gresko observed the operator making sudden movements and adjustments within his seat. TFC Gresko approached the vehicle on the passenger side and observed Joseph Poole Kline, 28, of No Fixed Address displaying physical signs of nervousness. After positively identifying Mr. Kline and the arrival of an additional unit, Mr. Kline was asked to exit the vehicle. Upon doing so, observed in plain view was a green pill on the driver's side seat. Mr. Kline was arrested for Possession of CDS - Oxycodone. Additionally, a query of his driving privileges revealed that his license status was suspended. A search incident to arrest revealed additional CDS in the center console of the vehicle. Mr. Kline was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, March 19 at 1:00pm, TFC E. M. Evans served a Circuit Court Warrant (T3-15418) on Samuel George Reiser, 21, of Hollywood. The warrant was issued by the Circuit Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Violation of Probation - Firearm Possession on March 2. Mr. Reiser was located in the 45000 block of Sayre Drive in Great Mills and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, March 19 at 10:40pm, Tpr. E. T. Reuschling served a Bench Warrant (T3-14535) on Russell Leroy Jordan, 24, of Hollywood. The warrant was issued with an original charge of Driving On A Suspended License on August 3, 2010 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. Mr. Jordan was located and served at the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, March 20 at 10:00am, TFC B. T. Wiesemann served a Department of Parole and Probation Warrant (T3-15426) on David Arthur Johnson, 20, of Hollywood. The warrant was issued by the Department of Parole and Probation on January 26 with an original charge of Fourth Degree Burglary. Mr. Johnson was located at the Department of Parole and Probation in the Carter Building and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, March 20 at 4:25pm, Tpr. E. T. Reuschling served a Bench Warrant (T3-15399) on Robert Michael Bice, Jr., 23, of Port Republic. The warrant was issued with an original charge of Theft Less Than $100.00 on March 2 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. Mr. Bice turned himself into the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack and was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
