Charles County Sheriff's Reports


LA PLATA, Md. (March 13, 2012)—The Charles County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

DRUG ARREST: On March 11 at 12:42 a.m., officers were conducting a parking lot check at a car dealership in the 2200 block of Crain Highway in Waldorf when they observed a suspicious car. Officers conducted a traffic stop and found marijuana inside the vehicle. The driver, James Carlton Burks, Jr., 23, of Upper Marlboro, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana. Officers Morris and Bagley made the arrest.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY AND THEFT: On March 10 at 2:05 a.m., an unknown suspect damaged a money changer and attempted to steal coins at a car wash in the 10200 block of Berry Road in Waldorf. The suspect fled when the alarm activated. The suspect is described a white male, wearing jeans and a hooded sweatshirt. Officer J. Hatfield is investigating.

THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE: On March 9 at 12:15 a.m., unknown suspect(s) stole a set of chrome center caps from a car parked in the 3200 block of Manning Court in Waldorf. A neighbor observed two suspicious males near the car and called the vehicle's owner. PFC J. Clagett is investigating.

THEFT: On March 9, between 8 p.m. - 11:20 p.m., unknown suspect(s) broke into a house in the 2800 block of Hadley Drive in Waldorf and stole computers and other electronics. Cpl. J. Jones is investigating.
