Five Appointed to St. Mary's Public Schools Ethics Panel


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (March 5, 2012)—The St. Mary's County Board of Education approved five appointments to its Ethics Panel at its meeting of February 29. These appointments are effective immediately.

Ms. Wanda Brown of Callaway: Ms. Brown is currently an Attorney in the Enforcement Division of the Office of the General Counsel at the Federal Election Commission. She has a law degree from Howard University. She has been a residence of St. Mary's County for eight years. She is the secretary to the National Treasury Employees Union, Chapter 204. In her present job she telecommutes so time to perform her duties on an ethics panel is not a problem. Ms. Brown will serve a two year term.

Mr. Stephen Kracinovich of Leonardtown: Mr. Kracinovich is a former Member/Chairman of the Board of Education. He has a Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering and Aviation Systems Engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering. He has also served on the Budget Advisory Committee, Special Education Advisory Committee, Growth Management Committee and School Advisory Committees. Mr. Kracinovich will serve a two year term.

Ms. Bernadette Lewis of Leonardtown: Ms. Lewis serves as the Community and Cultural Relations Director at Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative (SMECO). She has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Morgan State University. She is a long-time citizen of St. Mary's County, a graduate of Great Mills High School and is involved in many community, and civic organizations. Ms. Lewis will serve a three year term.

Mr. Wayne Lockley of California: Mr. Lockley serves as the PMA-201 Program Manager for CenterScope Technologies, Inc. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aeronautics and served 23-1/2 years in the Navy as a pilot. He has worked with elementary through high school students for over 20 years in a voluntary role. He also served on the Redistricting Committee. He is the coordinator of Park Hall Elementary Schools' Young Gentlemen's Club and co-established the Park Hall Scholarship Award program. Mr. Lockley will serve a two year term.

Mr. Patrick Murphy of Leonardtown: Mr. Murphy serves as the Chief Counsel for Federal Division of Robert Half International. He has a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Johns Hopkins University, with a concentration in management. He is a long-time citizen of St. Mary's County, having attended both Leonardtown Elementary and Middle schools. Mr. Murphy will serve a three year term.
