MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (January 23, 2012)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

DRUG ARREST: On Friday, February 17 at 1:21am, TFC J. A. Pilkerton conducted a traffic stop on a blue Chevrolet truck in the area of Old Village Road for a traffic violation. Upon approaching the vehicle, contact was made with the operator, John Edward Perrell, Jr., 28, of Mechanicsville. While speaking with Mr. Perrell, the odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected emitting from his breath. A standardized field sobriety test was conducted on the scene, which Mr. Perrell was unsuccessful in completing and subsequently placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence. Additionally, observed in plain view on the center console of the vehicle was CDS Paraphernalia. A search incident to arrest also revealed additional CDS and CDS Paraphernalia. Mr. Perrell was transported to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack for DUI processing and later transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly for the CDS and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Sunday, February 19 at 7:39pm, Tpr. S. M. Morton served a Bench Warrant (T3-15372) on Dorothy Lynn Vallandingham, 31, of Avenue. The warrant was issued with an original charge of Driving Without A Required License on February 15 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. Ms. Vallandingham was located and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Monday, February 20 at 10:24pm, Tpr. E. R. Mersman responded to the 36000 block of Joan Drive in Mechanicsville for a reported assault. Upon arrival, contact was made with a female complainant, 57, of Mechanicsville who advised she was assaulted by Evan Michael Kupchinsky, 29, of Mechanicsville. According the complainant, the altercation was initially verbal until the suspect grabbed her. While on the scene, Tpr. Mersman made contact with the suspect, who provided an account of the incident. Based on information provided by the suspect and physical evidence observed, Mr. Kupchinsky was placed under arrest for Second Degree Assault. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, February 21 at 12:35pm, Tpr. S. Ditoto served a Bench Warrant (T3-15362) on Michael LaShawn Johnson, 24, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued as a result of a Grand Jury Indictment for CDS Possession With Intent to Distribute - Narcotic on February 7 by the Circuit Court of St. Mary's County. Mr. Johnson turned himself into the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack and was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, February 21 at 5:08pm, TFC S. M. Van Bennekum served a Circuit Court Warrant (T3-15364) on Cynthia Dorea Pinkney, 32, of Mechanicsville. The warrant was issued on February 7 as a result of a Grand Jury Indictment for First Degree Arson. Ms. Pinkney was located in Charles County where her warrant was used as a detainer until she was transported to the county line and custody was transferred to TFC Van Bennekum. Ms. Pinkney was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, February 21 at 8:45pm, TFC N. E. Gresko served a Bench Warrant (T3-15378) on Christian T. Chism, 20, of Leonardtown. The warrant was issued for Mr. Chism's arrest on February 16 by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of CDS Possession - Paraphernalia. Mr. Chism was located in the 19000 block of Carter Lane in Lexington Park and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner. (1282001934)

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, February 22 at 3:25pm, Tpr. S. Ditoto served a Bench Warrant (T3-15386) on Andrew Maurice Brooks, 30, of Saint Leonard. The warrant was issued for Mr. Brooks' arrest on February 9 by the District Court of Calvert County with an original charge of Driving On A Suspended License. Mr. Brooks was located on a traffic stop in the area of Maryland Route 5 and Fairgrounds Road. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, February 22 at 4:40pm, TFC E. J. Page served a Bench Warrant (T3-15385) on Dawn Renee Wise, 28, of Avenue. The warrant was issued on the date of service by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Driving On A Suspended License. Ms. Wise turned herself into the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack and was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. She was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, February 23 at 5:53am, TFC J. G. Fleetwood served a Circuit Court Warrant (T3-15358) on Kirk Ramsey Morgan, Jr., 23, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued by the Circuit Court of St. Mary's County on February 6 as a result of a Grand Jury Indictment for CDS Possession With Intent to Distribute - Narcotics. Mr. Morgan turned himself into the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack and was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
