LEONARDTOWN, Md. (January 21, 2012)The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.
DRUG ARREST: On Friday, February 10 at 5:51pm, TFC J. A. Pilkerton conducted a traffic stop on a white Ford van in the area of Maryland Route 471 and Park Drive for a traffic violation. Upon approaching the vehicle, contact was made with the operator, Justin Kevin Russell, 23, of Tall Timbers. While speaking with Mr. Russell, TFC Pilkerton detected the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted revealing items concealed in the area between the center console and dashboard of the vehicle. Mr. Russell was arrested for Possession of CDS and CDS Paraphernalia. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and charged accordingly. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
THEFT UNDER $100: On Sunday, February 12 at 12:49pm, a lookout was broadcasted by the Emergency Communications Center pertaining to a vehicle and occupants involved in a theft from Wawa on Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville. Shortly after the broadcast, Tpr. E. R. Mersman observed a vehicle matching the description and conducted a traffic stop. Upon contact with the vehicle, it was determined that the vehicle and its occupants had recently left the Wawa, and would return at the request of Tpr. Mersman for the investigation. Upon returning to the scene of the theft, the vehicle and one occupant were positively identified as being involved in the theft. The subject, a juvenile male, 17, of Lexington Park provided a statement that resulted in his arrest for Theft Under $100.00. The juvenile was charged at the scene and released to a guardian pending further action by Juvenile Services.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, February 13 at 6:20am, TFC M. J. Pitcher served a Bench Warrant (T3-15332) on Nicholas Christopher Sitcer, 31, of Hollywood. The warrant was issued with an original charge of Driving On A Suspended Out of State License on January 25 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. Mr. Sitcer was located in the 24000 block of Half Pone Point Road in Hollywood. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, February 13 at 10:05am, TFC L. N. Nims served an Arrest Warrant (T3-15366) on Nuru Rudolph Frenche, 19, of an Unknown Fixed Address. The warrant was issued for Mr. Frenche's arrest on February 9 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. The original charge was Armed Robbery and Second Degree Assault. Mr. Frenche was located and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, February 13 at 1:10pm, Tpr. E. T. Reuschling served a Bench Warrant (T3-15352) on Gary B. Johnson, 48, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued on February 1 by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of CDS Possession - Marijuana. Mr. Johnson was located in the 45000 block of First Colony Way in California and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, February 14 at 4:30pm, TFC S. M. Van Bennekum served a Bench Warrant (T3-15368) on Christopher Ernie Curtis, 54, of Lusby. The warrant was issued by the District Court of Calvert County on January 19 with an original charge of Driving On A Suspended License. Mr. Curtis was located on the scene of a motor vehicle collision in the area of Maryland Route 4 and Maryland Route 5. Mr. Curtis was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
Drug Arrest - On Thursday, February 16 at 12:18am, TFC E. M. Evans initiated a traffic stop on a white Toyota truck in the area of Maryland Route 235 and Buck Hewitt Road in Lexington Park for a traffic violation. Upon approaching the vehicle, contact was made with Bradley Cornelius Davis, 20, of Great Mills, the operator of the vehicle. While identifying Mr. Davis, TFC Evans detected the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Subsequently, Mr. Davis was asked to exit the vehicle and a probable cause search was conducted. The search produced positive results, revealing CDS - Marijuana on the passenger seat. Mr. Davis was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, February 17 at 11:05am, TFC E. J. Page served a Bench Warrant (T3-15375) on Charles Nathaniel Taylor, 58, of Leonardtown. The warrant was issued for Mr. Taylor's arrest on February 15 by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Driving On A Suspended License. Mr. Taylor was located in the 23000 block of Cedar Lane Road in Leonardtown and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, February 17 at 9:10pm, Cpl. M. W. Laney served a Bench Warrant (T3-15371) on Dwayne Franklin Yorkshire, 27, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued with an original charge of Driving An Uninsured Vehicle on February 15 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. Mr. Yorkshire was located on a traffic stop in the area of Maryland Route 235 and Macarthur Boulevard. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Sunday, February 19 at 12:09pm, Tpr. S. M. Ditoto served a Bench Warrant (T3-15327) on Jerome Garcia Barnes, Jr., 24, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued on January 25 with an original charge of Driving On A Suspended License by the District Court of St. Mary's County. Mr. Barnes was located in the 21000 block of Hancock Road in Lexington Park and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
