LEONARDTOWN, Md. (February 9, 2012)—Joseph Lee McCarthy, 27, of Lexington Park, has been arrested in connection with the robbery of a patron of the Pegg Road Shell on January 30. Police say the patron was accosted in the parking lot of the establishment.
On February 7, detectives identified McCarthy as the suspect and arrested him. He was charged with Robbery, Assault 2nd Degree and Theft and incarcerated in the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he is being held on a $25,000 bond.
Detectives from the St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) conducted the investigation.
