MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (January 30, 2012)—The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

STOLEN VEHICLE REGISTRATION STICKER: On 1/22/2012 at 11:54 pm, Trooper First Class Saucerman stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Rt. 231 at Sea Gull Beach Road in Prince Frederick. Discrepancies were noted in the vehicle's Florida registration and investigation revealed that the year sticker was stolen from Florida. Herbert L. Richardson, 33 of Prince Frederick was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: On 1/23/2012 at 1:56 am, Trooper First Class Sorenson discovered a vehicle with a broken widow while conducting a patrol check at the Sunderland Park and Ride. The owner was contacted and an investigation revealed that the vehicle had been broken into and a CD player and watch were stolen. AA Co. Police handled a similar incident earlier at a park and ride on Route 2. Investigation linked the two crimes and witness information from AA Co. led police to two suspects. Berry A. Garner, 21 of Lothian and Douglas R. Fowler Jr., 21 of Dunkirk are being charged with destruction of property and theft.

THEFT: On 1/23/2012 at 5:54 pm, Trooper First Class Saucerman responded to the K-Mart in Prince Frederick for a reported theft. Michael M. Davis, 22 of North Beach, was arrested for stealing a Play Station 3 headset. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

ASSAULT ON A POLICE OFFICER: On 1/24/2012 at 10:15 am, Trooper Matthews made contact with Parole and Probation Agents attempting to serve a warrant at a home in the 11300 block of HG Trueman Rd. in Lusby. David D. Spencer, 28 of Lusby, pushed one of the agents during the attempted service. He was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

THEFT: On 1/29/2012 at 4:39 pm, Trooper Casarella responded to the 8700 bock of D St. in Chesapeake Beach for a reported theft. A canoe was stolen from the victim's backyard. Investigation continues.
