LA PLATA, Md. (January 27, 2012)—The College of Southern Maryland Theatre Company's production of Bang, Bang, Youre Dead, a play by William Mastrosimone, opens tonight in Prince Frederick.
The play centers on Josh, a young man in jail for having committed unspeakable crimes. As he lays in jail, figments of his imagination enter his cell demanding answers. When Josh evades those questions the visions become akin to a chorus of Greek Furies who torment him, making him re-live events and driving him toward the threshold of remorse.
CSMs Cause Theatre offers several touring shows per semester, each bringing to light a different social issue, designed to be informative and challenging. Each is followed by a facilitated discussion. Bang, Bang Youre Dead, presents the issue of school violence.
CSMs cast includes Adam Pond of White Plains as Josh; Sean Smith of Waldorf as Michael; Jennifer Nuñez of Leonardtown as Matt; Simone Hanna of Waldorf as Jessie; Sarah Infante of Waldorf as Katie and Rachel Cave of White Plains as Emily. The play is directed by Kenneth L. Waters Jr. and the stage is managed by Maurice Mo Brown, both of Waldorf.
Performances are Jan. 27-28 on the Prince Frederick Campus, Room 119; Feb. 2-4 at the Leonardtown Campus, Building A, Auditorium; and Feb. 9-11 on the La Plata Campus, Black Box Theatre, Room FA-143, all showing at 8 p.m. Tickets are $5.
