Drug Arrests in St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (January 25, 2012)—The St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) Narcotics Division recently released the following incident and arrest reports. The Division is an investigative team comprised of detectives from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, Maryland State Police Drug Enforcement Division, and Federal Drug Agents (HIDTA Group 34). The Division was established on September 1st, 2007 and is based in St. Mary’s County.

COCAINE, OXYCODONE: James Deshaun Bowman, 30, of Lexington Park, was arrested after Vice Narcotics detectives indicted him for felony drug possession. Suspect Bowman was found to be in possession of cocaine and Oxycodone in sufficient quantity to indicate there was intent to distribute.

MARIJUANA: Kyrel Antonio Lewis, 18, of Nanjemoy, was indicted by Vice Narcotics detectives after undercover purchases of marijuana were conducted. He was charged on an arrest warrant with two counts of Distribution of Marijuana and Conspiring to Distribute Marijuana. He was originally held without bond.

MARIJUANA: Steffen Zachary Monger, 21, of California, was indicted by Vice Narcotics detectives for Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute. He was arrested and originally held without bond.

COCAINE, MARIJUANA: Vice Narcotics detectives identified Lekuarius Clifford Plater, 29, as a distributor of both cocaine and marijuana. A search warrant was obtained and executed on his vehicle. Detectives discovered powder cocaine, 10 bags of crack cocaine, marijuana, and $137.00 in cash. He was arrested and charged with additional charges pending a State's Attorney's Office review.
